Features
:
Pickup features: Humbucking, nickel cover, No one should put a battery in a Les Paul!!
Impedence or other specs: uhhhhhh..words...uhhhhh?
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Orville/Gibson Les Paul
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: stock Orville PAF
Other pickups on guitar: Gibson '57 classic in the neck
Artists using this pickup: Other than myself.. I have no idea.
You musical style(s): Hard Rock to Pop Rock
Reason for pickup change: While the stock Orvilles had a really nice warm vintage tone, they weren't wax potted and the microphonics were just unbareable on a high gain Marshall.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: About the same as a stock Gibson PAF. Medium output.
Tone: Balanced and very warm. not muddy at all. Great clarity when strumming chords.
Sonic evaluation: I'm running this guitar straight through a 100 watt Marshall JCM 2000 half stack. I'm not sure why, but this pickup seems to sound better the louder I turn up my amp. The tone becomes more balanced and makes an "A" chord really crack your ribs without sounding harsh. I'm sure the Marshall has something to do with this, but this pickup absolutely sings at high volumes.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Style-wise I'm heavily influenced by players from 70's like Frehley, May, & Schenker. This pickup in a Les Paul suits my style perfectly. If you have the right amp you could probably use this for any style. Dimarzio makes this pickup for neck and bridge.

Comments: I've been playing for about 15 years. I have several guitars with several different pickups. If you have a Les Paul this pickup is perfect for that vintage tone. Compared to a Gibson '57 classic, the Dimarzio actually sounded better in my guitar. The tone is a bit smoother, which is why the '57 was moved to the neck.
I have no complaints.

Impedence or other specs: blerghhh.....
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Epiphone Les Paul Black Beauty
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Stock Epi 57' HB.
Other pickups on guitar: Stock 57's
Artists using this pickup: i dunno
You musical style(s): Rock, metal, a bit of clean stuff.
Reason for pickup change: The stock pickup was lacking in power for rhythm, and was way to muddy for solos.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: A fair bit higher than the stock jobbie, which is good.
Tone: Quite middy, but in a good way. Seems to suit my amps and pedals really well.
Sonic evaluation: Im using the LP, into Boss BD-2 blues driver and MD-2 Mega distortion pedals, then into a peavey classic chorus 2x12 combo. The amps set up with plenty of bass, with the BD-2 set to a crunchy clasic rock sound. The md2 is set to bowel rumbling bass heavy all out distortion. Sounds great with the bd2, and suprisingly sounds just as good with the md2. I dont even have to change the settings on my pedals or amp to get good clear rhythms and clear, bright, cutting solos on the same pickup. Just what ive been looking for!
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I do lot of metal, mainly just rhythm, but the ocassional solo. Clear as a bell, whilst still being low, powerful and souniding amazing. With a nice crunch, AC/DC and kiss stuff sounds amazing, especially the solos! Sustain has increased over the stupendous amounts it already had!

Comments: I love this pickup! Common problems with epis are the pickups and the selectors. The switch and bridge pickup have now both been repalced, and its an amazing axe! screams and rumbles! Get this goin u can feel it for a mile radius! Id defiantely buy this again, and id definately buy di marzio stuff agen, i got an Evolution 'bucker on my ibanez, and thats a scorcher of a pickup aswell. Ive been playin 2 years now, and ive been pretty lucky to be able to afford some half decent gear to help me get better and play in a band, and i dont see me buyin anotehr LP for a long while now the di marzio is in this 1.

Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez AS-80
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Ibanez Super '58
Other pickups on guitar: Gibson 57 Classic
Artists using this pickup: Don't know
You musical style(s): Rock/Metal/Alt/ Anything except country
Reason for pickup change: Stock pickups squealed horribly, even at low gain, tone sounded like blanket on the amp.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Normal, similar to stock Gibson, less than the 57 Classic
Tone: Balanced! Heavenly!
Sonic evaluation: Just installed yesterday. Tried out through old MKII Marshall, no feedback, sounded like blanket lifted off of the amp, balances very well with the 57 Classic in the bridge. There is no loss of highs, mids are sweet, bass is perfectly balanced, which is rare for a neck position. Warm and sweet!
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Been playing forever, always wanted a 335, never could afford one. Got the AS-80 a couple of years ago at a steal, finally got off my duff and did something about the pickups, the money and time were well spent
Overall Rating

Comments: If something ever happened, I'd buy the same combination again. The tone is awesome. Mostly play heavier music, but the AS-80 brings out my other side, these new pickups fullfill the promises of the guitar. May even do replacements on my SG I like the tones so much.

Comments: Both pick ups, neck and bridge, sound the way I expected them to sound: clear, singing and easy to survive heavy processing. They certainly don't have a high output that saturate the signal for easy distortion, but the processor and the amp do the job well. The result is a crunchy (not saturated) distortion and bright and balanced clean sounds, way ahead of the Gibson stock pick ups I replaced. They are the most versatile pick ups I've ever tried. Of course I'd buy them again for other guitars.
