Instrument :

utter garbage

Overall Rating : No Opinion
The worst and most unprofessional company to deal with. I personally would not spend another cent on their products. They have zero customer appreciation and are the rudest people I have ever dealt with. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS OUTFIT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR QUALITY PICKUPS AT A GOOD PRICE TRY GUITAR FETISH.

I dropped these in a '95 Mexi Fender Strat i was redoing as replacements for the originals. I really only got these because they were 16.95 for a 3 piece set. (did not expect much) I was changing the pickguard, pickups, whole 9 yards, and came across these. Switched the pots out for 500k Alpha's and lost the 5 way for a triple set of 3 way on-off-on switches.

Sound : 8
Decent, really. Not at all what you'd expect for the price.
I'm running it through my Crate VTX 30, and a 50 watt tube Crate.
The tube amp in the neck pos especially sounds really nice.
These are by no means a set of Duncan's...but hell, for 17 bucks they're actually not bad.

Overall Rating : 6
I've been playing for about 6 years now, and have played on a wide selection of guitars. I'll be the first to admit i am not a humbucker person, hence the strat.

If these were destroyed or stolen, I'd probably move on, but it would have been fun while it lasted.

Love the price, dig the sound, however like the other reviewer said, i hate the fact that the pole spacing is not-standard. (you cant change the covers for other 'fender' spaced holes). I threw a set of black EMG-style "no-holes" covers on it and they look sweet.

Over-all...i think this pickup set is pretty decent for the price, but there are better sets for more money. It all depends on what you want/how much you want to spend.

Features :
single coil passive rated at 6K

I installed this in a project strat with basswood body and a warmoth maple neck. It was a set placed in s-s-s all positions.
I was replacing the stock fender strat pickups mim.

I doubt any artist are using these.

Wanted to try them, there were no reviews on HC so I wanted to be the first to let others know what to expect.

Sound : 7
Output level is moderate, slightly high. They sound okay 7.0 out of 10

Overall Rating : 5
If they were stolen or destroyed I would move on. I have been playing for 10 years. I own several strats and a jag.

I love that the average price for the set is under 20 dollars.
What I hate NOW PAY ATTENTION curious ones!

1. They are flippn CHEAP! they look cheap, they sound relatively good! for the price, but they are very cheap looking. I have seen better looking pickups on low end strat clones. The pole spacing does not allow you to interchange pickup covers with Fender size and brand pickup covers. The wires are cheap, though they work just fine.

The screws that it comes with are of a different threads and they look ridiculous on a strat. The heads of the screws are non flat mount, they are tapered. Stratocaster type screws are non compatable. The pickup covers are CRUDY Plastic and that is putting it nicely!

If you want to install cheap decently good sounding pickups on a project strat clone just to fill the holes DO SO! DO NOT REPLACE FENDER MIM, OR SQUIER standard pickups with these. It would be a
mistake!

I have bought other dragonfire pickups and I have been very pleased with them! STAY AWAY FROM THESE particular ones. TRUST ME
