Dual rails, 12k+ ohms, Came in an empty box. No springs, No screws, No instructions. The first sign of a crappy pickup or a crappy retailer.
I emailed Dragonfire guitars and they tried to SELL me the screws they didn't pack for 1.49 each! So, if you want screws, add $4.50 to the price. I didn't price the springs because I wasn't going to give Dragonfire any more money anyway. I think the guys name was Ken. He is obviously just some lame business man made obvious by his statement that there was such a thing as "Standard" screws that fit every pickup.
Instrument
:
Its going into a parker P-36. The stock pickups buzzed and devalued the tone. I am also trying a GFS matched pair. They came with hardware and instructions so the Dragonfire may never see the light of day.

So, they seem hot and a little twangy. They aren't duncans or anything but decent. My parker is used primarily for clean twangy stuff, and the Dragonfire worked well. It was a little hot and somewhat hard to balance with the neck pickup but still not a bad sound.

Ok, here's the catch. If they were stolen, I would gladly pay twice the price for ANY other pickup. This one sounds pretty good but after the way I was treated by the owner, I would NEVER support them again.
Maybe I'll tear it down and rewind it to better match my neck pickup. One way or another, they won't get any more of my money - cheap or not.
Its too bad too because the pickup had potential.

Alnico V double blade style humbucking pickup for Telecaster type Bridge replacement, single coil size, 12.2 k output. Four wire conductor with ground, wiring instructions were included. Green is positive, Black and bare to ground, red and white together.
Instrument
:
Replaced the bridge pickup in my Peavey Generation EXP tele knockoff. I replaced a Fender Alnico 3 bridge pup from a Highway One tele with this pickup. The neck pickup is the stock strat style single coil pickup. I changed the pickup because I wanted rid of the hum and more output.

The output level is HOT HOT HOT. Still twangy. I never heard a twangy humbucker before, but by gawd they did it! The tone is twangy, hot , good balance on the highs and mids, not too much bass. The trick is not to get it too close to the strings or it's all distortion. I backed off the height a little and there is was! Add some pre gain or overdrive and this thing is ready to rock. When I switch to the bridge pup now, it's got as much output as my LP's 500T. Loud leads! WILL cut through! I use a Mesa Heartbreaker head and 4x12 Eminence loaded cab for big gigs, and a Pignose G60VR (w/Eminence Legend) for smaller gigs, sounds great with both. Great for rock, rockabilly, and country, and maybe could pull off metal if you back off on the tone control a little.

I would definitely replace if required. Been playing guitar since 1972.
I love the output level and the silent operation (NO HUM) but it still retains the twanginess of a tele bridge pup. I basically bought it 'cause it was priced right (Duncans are WAY over-rated, IMHO). As far as this beater guitar goes, no further mods are necessary (unless I can find a good hot neck puckup that still has the stock single coil clarity and sweetness - I know, dream on!).

Pickup features: humbucking
Impedence or other specs: 12.20
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: custom one of a kind.
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Building from the ground up
Other pickups on guitar: Dimarzio Tone pro
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): anything I get my hands around
Reason for pickup change: wanted a good counter balance to Dimarzio Tone Pro
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: a bit brighter than neck pickup
Tone: a bit bassy with good hot Tele overtones
Sonic evaluation: This is an experimental instrument- spec'd out pretty much blind as I'm an acoustic musician. All I can say for the pickup is that when I hit the bridge position switch, I get a foolish grin on my face hearing it! Much more Tele-real than expected.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: good match for rock, country

Pickup features: Split Coil Humbucker for Telecaster Bridge Position
Impedence or other specs:
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Telecaster
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Fender Texas Specials
Other pickups on guitar: None
Artists using this pickup: none
You musical style(s): Everything and Anything
Reason for pickup change: Like a tele feel with the bite of a humbucker. Been at this music thing for far too long and a simple single humbucker with a single volume control is all you need
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hotter than a Kent Armstrong Humbucker nice for metal in a tele
Tone: well balanced with a nice clean sound, but sings with it cranked up !
Sonic evaluation: Telecaster into a LIne 6 nothing else needed
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Great math for someone who likes a tele feel and a metal bite

Features
:
Pickup features: passive humbucker in single coil size for Telecaster bridge.
Impedence or other specs: four conductor with coil tap capacity
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: MIM Telecaster
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: stock mexican bridge
Other pickups on guitar: stock neck
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): classic rock
Reason for pickup change: Main guitar is USA Tele Plus with Lace/Red humbucker in bridge. I wanted to replace anemic stock pickup with something which would sound similar on this, my backup Tele.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Slightly less gain than the dually in the bridge on Tele Plus.
Tone: Very similar to Lace Reds, slightly more balanced with a little less bottom.
Sonic evaluation: I use Telecasters, Strats, and a 335 copy through a Roland GT-3 into a Fender Hot Rod Deville 2 X 12. Swapping out the stock pickup for this unit definitely accomplished my intent of improving my backups performance to a level similar to my Tele Plus.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This is a bridge pickup very much suited to chunky rhythm backing and leads with a bit of overdrive added.
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: Easy on the wallet improvement on stock MIM pickups. I will soon install coil-tap switch to fully utilize its sound.
