alnico five magnets and the output on the bridge is 6 k.

Instrument
:
Installed on older(80's) model SamickStrat copy.
I'm using them in all postions.
Replacing all three Samick pickups.
I replaced the pickups because the Samick pups had bery little quack and very little low-end.

Vintage output- if you have good headroom on your amp these will allow you to crank your amp without losing your clean tone.
I use mainly old Fender tube amps '69 Fender Princeton, '67 Fender Super Reverb. Fulltone and Boss effects.
These pups are very well balanced, good highs, mids, and low end. Very clean pickups.
From the guys website "Based on the 57/62' series, they have the quack of a Strat with warmth."
I've had the pleasure of playing some '50's and '60's strats and I have to say these do just what they are built for.
I play everything Country, Blues, Jazz, Rock.
These pups are suitable for Country, Blues, and older Rock.

For the price I would definitely buy these agian
The only negative comment I have is the leads were a little short. They work but could stand to be a few inches longer.
Playing for 25+ years. I own New and Old American Telecasters.
I have Fender, Duncans, Dimarzio, GFS pickups installed on all my other electric guitars. I would put these up against any of them. I've bcome a firm believer that you don't have to break the bank to get the tone what.
Although I am satisfied with the Flashbacks, I don't think anyone is truly found "THE SOUND". I will still keep searching and I will start by looking at some more of this guys pickups.

Budget single coil strat pickups - nothing special feature-wise.
Instrument
:
I have these installed in an Alvarez Nashville-style telecaster copy. Neck and middle positions using a black GFS pickguard, replaced the original lipstick pickups. Bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan Hot Stack.

Output is smooth, clear and clean - I wouldn't think the resistance is anything above 6k, but don't quote me. Pickups have a lot of clarity and "pop" without being overly bright, making them excellent for funk, jazz and jangly indie-ish rock. Bass response is tight, and the overall sound is very balanced. Middle pickup adds plenty of tele-style quack without being abrasive or trite-sounding.
For my clean sound, my main amp is a modified Epiphone Galaxie 25: 12ax7/el84-powered, supposedly based on a blackface bassman circuit (minus the obvious el84s). It's sparkly-sounding with a ton of headroom and super-tight bass response - basically sounds like an amp that's been kicked around the studio since the 50's. The tele really provides a lot of pop, quack, and jangle with this setup.
For dirt, I generally rely on pedals - MI Audio Boost n' Buff + Pedalworx Texas Two Step (silver), and an EHX Little Big Muff. The clarity that these pickups have, even with the wall of fuzz that is the LBM, is amazing. Absolutely clear, cutting lead tone. Beautiful.

I love these pickups. Absolutely love them. They're low output, tight, clear and well-balanced. I bought them as fill-in replacements until I could invest in something more expensive, and, after 2 years, I've never felt the need. For me, for the price I paid, they're a perfect 10.
That said, they might not be for everybody. Some like hotter pickups for more drive, some like a noiseless single coil (though I find them lifeless), and these don't fit that bill. These pickups are simple, cheap, and amazing if you're looking for something with their tonal strengths.

Perceived output level: way hotter than MIM strat pups
Tone: very balanced, more mids
Sonic evaluation: i built a frankenstein strat from parts I purchased off eBay. Play it through a Behringer V-ampire, boy my frankenstein strat came alive with these dragonfire pups! It REALLY breathed life into my axe. The sound is bright but not too much, and the mids are just great.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play 80's and 90's rock, and these pups are the perfect match.

Comments: Been playing for almost 30 years now, and have owned over a dozen electric guitars, mostly strats. Have also built about 5 strats from parts I get from eBay - my frankenstein strats. I have used a lot of pups in the process, from MIM, standard strat pups, Mighty Mites, and GFS. I now mostly play my custom built strat, MIM Tele and Gretsch electromatic. These dragonfire pups are by far the best! I'm currently building a blackie strat and will definitely order a set of these strat pups again. These pups have THAT tone i have been looking for. Can't get a better tone for the money!
