Active humbuckers

Instrument :
Epiphone Zakk Wylde signature les paul custom with the pickups already installed when I bought it

Sound : No Opinion
loads of output and plenty of sustain, I play all sorts from metal to country rock, I use a Marshall MG 250DFX amplifier using the suggested settings in the manual and boy does it rock.

Overall Rating : 10
I would most definately buy the same again but upgrade the amplifier to perhaps the JCM 900

Sonic evaluation: Les paul with these babies straight into Marshall AVT 150 half stack

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This is the perfect pickup for hard rock and metal, I just cant live without them, and these are beautiful silver plated 81's

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: if they were lost or stolen, i would truly cry. I found them on the EMG site, they are the 25th aniversary silver 81's, and they are the most beautiful pickup on the market. EMG is almost out of them, guitar center had to specail order them for me and it took about 2 months for them to come in, but damn was it worth it!!!!!
