Perceived output level: since it's active it's a high output pickup.
Tone: seems to be fairly well balanced to my ears.
Sonic evaluation: i like the sound i can get from this pickup used in my custom built tele thinline style guitar through a vox pathfinder amp (i love the clean sound this amp gets. it's not loud but it's good clean). with the treble about halfway up and the bass a little more than halfway up i get a nice half electric half acoustic type sound. a middle of the road type of sound. that's what i was looking for and that's what i got. this pickup is quiet as far as buzzing goes, but there is some hiss there...just for fun i can pull out my danelectro daddy-o overdrive pedal and crank the gain all the way and get some good distorted rock and alternative sounds out of this pickup too.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: could be used for any style.

Comments: as far as single coil neck pickups in a tele go i would definitely buy this again. there isn't anything else i'd even consider at the moment. i'm satisfied with this pickup and unless something new and better for me comes out this will be the pickup i stick with for my tele neck position.
