Reason for pickup change: I THOUGHT an EMG would sound better then the factory BC Rich pickups

Perceived output level: Not Hot. Sucko cool!
Tone: Not bad tone really, just not hot enough, I think they left the gain for these things somewhere in the factory
Sonic evaluation: I use marshal 1960 4 x 12's mesa boogie 2:90 power amps, and either a Mesa Triaxis or a Rocktron Piranha

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play mainly industrial/techno metal.

Comments: I bought this THING blindly, or shall I say deafly, if that's even a word, relying on EMG's reputation of making high output pickups. I'd assuumed it couldn't possibly be worse then the factory BC RIch pickups. Turns out the factory pickups kick the crap outta this thing. I would recommend this to no one, I routed out my guitar to fit in a pickup that purely blows. Why do they call this thing a soapbar style pickup? Because it DOES NOT get very dirty. Ok bad joke, but you get the idea. I give it a 2 because at least it looks cool.

Reason for pickup change: It came with the guitar and its ok , its not that high output but it still sounds ok , i went out and bought some emg 707 active kind and omg much better.

Perceived output level: its normal not really hot
Tone: its got alot of mids and a little muddy

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play metal and this pickup does a okay job at it , if i were you id get some emg 707 actives

Comments: if they were stolen i wouldnt be pissed since i put active 707's in the guitar , iv been playing for about 2 years , i wish it had a little bit more lows to it then it would be a way better pickup

Tone: not enough bass, too much mid, not enough treble, AND FUCKING NOISY.
Sonic evaluation: Peavey 5150 combo, wah wah, and that't it.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play metal, and this pickup can't play anything. It it utterly terrible.

Comments: I hope some one would steal it. This is a horrible pickup. I went out the day i got the guitar and bought some EMG 707's, active kind. I think the HZ series EMG puts in ESP guitars are a "black eye" in the EMG name, and shame on ESP for including them. On the bright side, they are better the ibanez, and jackson stock 7 string pickups, and that doesn't show too much. I recommned getting the EMG 707 Active pickup, the best 7 string pickup in the damn world. If you ever had the chance to buy this pickup, and you can't because they are only put in ESP guitars and not sold in stores, I would strongly recommend not to get it. I hope you take my recommendation seriously, becase I really do think this pickup is shit, and i don't go about saying that lightly because i think product reviews are vital when looking into purchasing anything, especially expensive things.
