Hot. Even when I play through my crappy Peavey Special 150 DIRECT, people accuse me of having Marshall guts in a Peavey cnatainer. The tone is strat strat strat with plenty of high sparkle and output galore! Gotta be one of the best, if not THE best single coil replacement pup on earth. NO HUM!! NONE!

Overall Rating : 10
Been using these babies since 1988. Just bought a new 57 reissue strat nad they're going on there asap.

Features :
Pickup features: Active Single Coil
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Encore Strat Copy
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: Stock crap!
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup: Me not sure who else
You musical style(s): Anything really
Reason for pickup change: Old pickups gave a horrible tone.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Very clean that can get as hot as you want
Tone: Bassy but with right setting balanced
Sonic evaluation: Im using these pickups in my strat with a Marshall MG30DFX amp. Very clean on clean channel and the best distortion youl hear using a proco rat pedal. Very smooth.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Rock and anything else I like. This will do anything.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: If I could find them so cheaply again I would fit them again. I would try Lace sensors if I couldnt. These pickups were great to install I only had to solder two points!

Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: ESP LTD M-II
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: ESP SS-100
Other pickups on guitar: EMG 81
Artists using this pickup: Kirk used'em for one or two guitars I think
You musical style(s): Metal, Hardcore, Classic rock, Hard Rock, Blues, Vaiish stuff
Reason for pickup change: More output, brighter tone

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: For those of you who said the Duncan Invader was loud, you might think about putting this little thing in place of your invader and get ready to cry when you see how much louder this puny little single coil pickup is in comparison to your tone sucking invader hunk of crap!
Tone: Dead on strat tone 1000 times better
Sonic evaluation: Using it with A big rack of sh*t including Mesa and roland stuff. It does say be candid doesn't it. Oh well. Furman PL-plus, korg DTR-1, dunlop CR-15, Mesa dual rectifer, alesis 3630, roland Gp-100, TC electronics 2290, Lexicon PCM-91.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Metal, Hardcore, Classic rock, Hard Rock.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I'd defintiely get another one. Wouldn't even think twice. I don't know how to describe EMG pickups. They make any amp sound like the amp you wish you always had.
