Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Both pickups are not very hot. They can still get loud though.
Tone: Tone is excellent, not muddy at all. The bridge like I said is not hot, but it still can get a great sound out of it. Very balanced sound. The neck pickup I feel if set at the right amp combination I can get the best clean sound I have ever had out of a guitar! Both pickups are very balanced in sound.
Sonic evaluation: These pickups have to be the best stock pickups I have ever heard. I don't think I am going to change them(especially since esp will void the lifetime warranty :P) I am using esp guitars and mesa amps and cabs. I love the sound my amp and these pickups give. I really can get that Randy Rhodes sound. Also, when using the neck pickup I can get great clean sounds like Satriani.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play hard rock and metal this is really a good match. But, if your a big metal fan and have som extra money, I would order emg's with the esp so that the pickups are still under warrenty. These pickups I think are suitable for everything, blues, rock, metal and jazz.

Comments: If these were destroyed I would probably replace them with other pickups, because they are stocks. Also, if ESP did not void the warranty I would probably change them. I have been playing for over 3 years now. I am satisfied with this pickup. Overall, like I said these are great stock pickups and I am very happy with them.

Perceived output level: Bridge's output is about the same as a Duncan JB, it's nearly perfect, just the right output. The neck is "weaker" but by no mean a wimpy pickup. It's medium hot.
Tone: The bridge is really focused and evenly balanced. Sounds to me like a crossing between a duncan JB and a Dimarzio evolution. The neck is fat and warm and also a little muddy.
Sonic evaluation: These pickups are by far the best stock pickups I've ever heard in my life!! I use them with a Crate G-130C half-stack, sometimes a metal-zone pedal. The bridge is fuckin great for leads and George Lynch sound. The neck is cool for blues and such.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: These pickups will do everything!!

Comments: I would probably replace them if they would fail, cause it's easier for me to change them to duncans or dimarzio than to find new ESP pickups. I love everything about the bridge humbucker, I would like the neck to be a little hotter though. I am really satisfied with that sound...someday I'll try some brand pickups in it, but as far as now, I'm satisfied. These pickups sound just like I love. The bridge sounds like a Duncan JB.
