Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Blues, Rock
Reason for pickup change: Original pickups sounded too thin for my taste.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Punchy, but still very vintage sounding pickups, output level is designed for "hot blues"
Tone: Vintage, but still with very nice punch and twang. Neck pickup sounds warm and mellow.
Sonic evaluation: I got Strat, LP?s and 335 & this tele. I?m using Fender Blues DeVille 212 amp and Vox valvetone pedal. Also play home through Korg Pandora. These pickups suit exactly to my taste. They sound a bit more bassy and warm than original Fender Tele PUP?s, and also have slightly more output on them so you can nicely overdrive your amp with these.
Think of Jimmy Page?s tele sound, or like SRV on Tele though
the sound is not as trebbly as SRV?s.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Ideal pickups for rock blues, like ZZ top for example
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: If they?d get destroyed I?d get new ones from Tony!
I?ve been playing now over 15 years, and I?ve done several
modifications on electric guitars. I`ve tried Seymor Duncan,
DiMarzio, Ibanez, Gibson, Fender, Kent Armstrong pickups and these
will stand pround against them. Very high guality, they?re built just like in the old days. Cloth covered wires etc.
I?m happy with these and won?t replace them in the future.
It?s really hard to find a better bang for the buck!
Tony is a really nice person to do business with. Be aware of
relative long delivery time, depending on how many orders he has
at the time.
