Features :
These are the Black, open faced, 2 WIRE Epiphone humbuckers being offered for sale on ebay. (April 2008) They are labeled on the back "F-Epiphone", and "R-Epiphone" I figured the F=front=neck, and R=rear=bridge. There are no specs provided on these pick-ups and they wouldn't give them to me when I asked. The seller is a middle-man. The pick-ups are made in China and shipped out of Hong Kong. It took me 35 days to get them. Now here's the great part; the F pickup registers 12.3KOhms and the R pickup registers 16.4 KOhms! This is as hot as the Seymours I have in my PRS! Total cost with shipping was $32.00!

Instrument :
I bought these to but in my Dillion XT500 practice guitar. (The Dillion pickups are crap, registering 8.05 and 8.4 respectively. I didn't care about swapping out silver covered pickups for black faced ones, actually it looks pretty kool. I changed the pickups to see if I could get more sound out of the guitar. It's just for practice so I wasn't going to spend $120 for a set of Seymour's or DiMazio's.

Sound : 10
The out put level doubled! Smooth clear sound, no hummm, no pickup distortion. I am impressed! I immediately had to turn the amp down with the pickup settings on "3", where I always play. I could not believe how much of a difference this made.

Overall Rating : 10
Incedible! If the Chinese ever figure out what they are selling the cost of these suckers is going to double or triple. Get them now! $19.99 "Buy it now" price and $12.00 for shipping; $31.99 overall. It may take you awhile to get them so be patient. They were well packed and came sealed in plastic.

Features :
Price quoted was for the guitar that included these pickups. These are Neck position 52CH and Bridge position HOT(CH) gold in color.

Instrument :
I thought these sounded pretty good for an epiphone. I found these to sound good, for most applications, jazz, blues, rock, and reasonable and versatile for most intermediate use.

Sound : 8
I had a guitar tech check the outputs on these, the neck or 52CH was 8 k and the bridge or HOT CH was 14 k , these are the same readings off of Gibson LES PAUL Custom pickups (490R and 498T), which I also had checked at the same time.

Overall Rating : 8
Overall, for the price of the Epiphone guitar, and hardware, and quality of sound, pretty good.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive humbucker
Impedence or other specs: erm.........

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Epi LP Custom Black Beauty 3
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: n/a
Other pickups on guitar: All stock HB's
Artists using this pickup: n e using an epi lp custom.....duh.....
You musical style(s): rock, metal, a bit of clean stuff
Reason for pickup change: arghh...im not!

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Bridge is nice and bright, and goes nicely with a proper rock distortion, a bit noisy compared to other p'ips ive got on other axes, but theyre nice
Tone: neck has a blues tone to die for with an overdrive, just sings! makes u wanna reel off an AC/DC or Kiss solo! lol
Sonic evaluation: les paul with boss BD-2 and MD-2, into a peavey classic chorus. The bridge is great for metal rhythm, a bit muddy and lacking in treble for leads, but the neck with my overdrive pedal is incredible, especially with the sustain provided by the mahogony body and set mahonogy neck. The sweetest tone ive ever heard my guitar make, i can feel my self goin all slowhand as we speak......lol

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: A bit sorta under powered for metal, but then agen i cant shred this guitar aswell as my ibanez, so it doesnt really get used for it a lot

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: If lost for some reason, id definately buy another, i havent finished experimenting with the blues tone, n if i dont i will die very unhappy!

Features :
Pickup features: Humbucking, Passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Casino Stage Series
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: gayface ones
Other pickups on guitar: gayface
Artists using this pickup: smokey mcgay
You musical style(s): blues/rock/soft rock/hard rock/metal
Reason for pickup change: the other ones were gay in the face

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Nice and beefy
Tone: Warm and Rich
Sonic evaluation: Sounds way better than my other gay in the face pickups. They're pretty chunky and sound good clean and distorted, but they squeal if you have it up at like 50000 decibels which is a bit gay in the face. I oonly have a gay in the face amp though, so i cant really crank it up that gay-in-the-face loud. If you get my drift. Overall, they're a very good quality pickup for intermediate players.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: It's good for rock, blues and jazz. Not good for gay in the face music like egyptian llama dances and stuff.

Overall Rating : 7
Comments: I recommend this as an upgrade from gay in the face pickups, like the stock ones in most YAMAHA'S!
