Perceived output level: Medium output. A bit less than the bridge, but that goes with the territory on these pups
Tone: really good. Balanced mids and highs, not to bassy
Sonic evaluation: Alder bodied, maple necked custom telecaster with nitrocellulose lacquer finish. 7.25" neck radius and vintage, 3-barrel bridge. Played through either a Fender Hot Rod DeVille, or a Peavey Classic 30.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play mostly rock and blues. Of course, this pup is great for country -- hey, it's a telecaster -- but it works well for most types of music. The sound's in your hands, anyway.

Comments: I like this pup. It is wired out of phase to the Duncan (most Fender pups are out of phase with other brands) so you have to reverse-wire the pickup (swap the hot and ground). If you do this, you'll get a wonderfully clean position #2 sound that is hum-cancelling to boot.
I would buy this pup again. The Duncan neck pup is too bassy.
