Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: The output is about the same as the original early 60's Strat's I've played
Tone: Classic strat- bright, twangy, all the sounds of the old strats except a little more brittle. Will sound just like the old ones when they're 20 years old
Sonic evaluation: I use them with a Fender Twin live and a '66 Princton Reverb at home.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: They work very well for the styles mentioned above.

Comments: These are fine sounding pickups both live and at home. All the sounds we've come to know and love can be had with these. I've installed the same pickups in an '87 Japanese Strat and they sound really good. I've had Fralins and they are good pickups but don't really sound much better. You have to take into consideration the sound of the guitar you're using. Every piece of wood is different.Fralins,'62's(57/62),Rio Grande etc. are all very close in sound. If you're hearing big differences between them, then adjust the pickup height and you can get them to sound much the same as each other. I thing players are spending too much time listening for whats bad in their gear anyway. By a set of any of the pickups mentioned above and then in the words of Frank Zappa "shut up and play your guitar!"
