Features :
I just bought a new Fender V neck Custom Classic guitar. > $2200. It has "Custom Classic" pickups, not dated. Passive single coils. The technical specs are on Fender's Web site.

Instrument :
The pups are being removed from the Custom Classic. Changing due to noise.

I need this guitar for my Roland synth to record my own material. Only effects I use are BOSS comp/sus., a Fasel Crybaby into a Marshall AVT 150H full stack. My 2005 LP Standard sounds magnificent through it. Killer setup.
The Strat...the hum is absolutely horrible. I'm replacing them with SD Everything Axe set. The hum is even worse than on the MEX Strat I owned several years back. Even WORSE than Texas Specials. There is so much distortion from the magnetic field, that you can actually use it like a Heil Talk Box! Even the 2/4 positions. Granted this is a beautiful axe in every other way, but if you buy this guitar, think immediately about taking out these pickups.

Overall Rating : 1
I've played for 35 years, guitar two strats, a Washburn, Fender PBass (that's getting the pickup replacement treatment too), Peavey TNT 150/ 500 watt cab with BOSS passive foot volume.
Fender should upgrade its single coil guitars with mini-humbuckers. There are so many good ones out there that the single coil is really a dated piece of electronics. Any of Seymour Duncan's or DiMarzio's, or Fralins are all good alternatives.
