Features :
Pickup features: passive single coil
Impedence or other specs: What?

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Mexican Standard Tele
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: stock
Other pickups on guitar: stock
Artists using this pickup: My friends Matt and Brad
You musical style(s): Punk, Emo
Reason for pickup change: Just got a JCM 900 and the stock pickup sucked balls with it

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Almost as hot as a humbucker
Tone: Fatter than the stock pickup, not as fat as a real humbucker
Sonic evaluation: I use a JCM 900 with a Sonic 4x12 cab and I try to go for a very heavy, yet responsive and clear sound. My other guitar is a Squire Fat Strat and it's got a humbucker in the bridge position which just sounds great with the Marshall. The tele was not so good though. The distortion was very thin and it would get ear-piercing highs at higher volumes. I wanted to get something to fatten up the sound, but still keep it crisp like a Tele was meant to be and in my situation the Lace was perfect.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Great for punk if you're attached to your tele, not getting any better for emo

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: I think I'm done looking for a Tele pickup. The tone now matches that of my Strat, but it is much clearer for flat chords which is what I wanted from my tele. It's not quite brutal enough on the palm mutes for my liking, but it's still quite good and very tight even if you crank the crap out of the bass.
