Features :
Model I06. Single coil, hot wound, tele bridge pup. Paid $25 for the pup. Impedence is 10k, copper bottom, alnico 5 magnets, cloth covered wire, very imperssive build quality for the price. No plastic, alnico magnets vs. ceramic's that the MIM Teles come with.

Instrument :
"98 MIM Stnd. Tele. It is a Tele bridge pup. Replacing the oem cheap ceramic mag pup. Also, have the I37 Alnico Fatbody in the neck and these 2 go together like carrots and peas. Love the middle sound. I play through a Tech 21 TM60 with the matching Power Engine 60, a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL602, and a Vox Pathfinder 10.

Sound : 9
This pup really overdrives all of my amps very nicely. Through my TM60, running through a Digitech Bad Monkey tube overdrive, into a Boss Comp/Sustain CS1, and a Dano eq it growls like a Kodiak bear. Really nice sound through my Marshall tube amp, and lovely jangly sound through the Vox. I love using this guitar with my cry baby wah. Great bass response for a Tele and the highs are less screechy than the oem ceramic magnet. The sound from the middle position is wonderful. GFS suggested the I37 Alnico Fatbody to match up with the I06 Hot TC and they are a great team. I am tempted to get a new pickguard and use a mini hummer in the neck but it probably couldn't sound any better thatn it does now. I just love projects. I may have to get another Tele to play with and with the prices of GFS pup's I can afford to.

Overall Rating : 9
For original Tele sounds and a little power for classic rock this is a great pickup. I have been playing off and on for 35+ years and this is as good a Tele pup as any I have heard. I also have a set of Dream 90's in a Korean Hamer that sound great. I have heard differing opinions on GFS customer svc. In my little interaction with them they sounded like dicks in their e-mails but the product is great and as long as they deliver in a reasonable amount of time I don't care. They're not coming over for dinner.

Features :
Pickup features: Overwound Single Coil Tele Bridge
Impedence or other specs: 10K

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Mexican Tele Standard
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Stock bridgee
Other pickups on guitar: Stock neck
Artists using this pickup: Hoss from Shades of April
You musical style(s): Christian Indie/Emo/Rock
Reason for pickup change: Not enough bass or output from stock tele bridge.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Quite a bit more output than stock. Overdrives my THD BiValve VERY nicely!
Tone: Tons of bass and low mids. I had to lower the pickup a ton on the bass side.
Sonic evaluation: I'm running a THD BiValve with 6550's and it sounds awesome. When I crank the guitar, it is a crunch machine. It still sounds like a tele, just a really hot one. Back off the volume and it cleans up really well. You do trade off some of the "spank" for more bass and output, but you still definitely know it's a tele.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play in an original Christian Indie/Emo/Rock band and this pickup is perfect for what I play. It is exactly the sound I was looking for.

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: Truthfully, I kind of wish that it had just a little bit less bass. Don't get me wrong, you can dial it out and lower the pickups, but I think it'd be just right if it had just a little less emphasis on the lows. That being said, if you're looking for a nice pickup to really compliment a Mesa-ish type chunk sound and still sound like a tele, this is your baby. I think if this were lost or stolen, I might try the GFS '62 tele or the modern vintage (10K) rails pickup. With GFS low prices, you can try them all and still spend less than a boutique pickup. Don't let the low prices fool you. They are of good, solid build quality and they truly do sound much better than stock. Take a chance on GFS and I think you'll definitely love them.
