This pickup is suitable for a lot of applications. Will it doesn't suit my needs for de-tuned doom metal, it works excellent for Jazz and Worship stuff. I'd say these have a warm, relaxed attack complimented with excellent sustain. They don't have a lot of mids, so the sound is fairly mellow. It's easy to get the impression that these pickups are gonna sound super brutal and heavy, but where these really excel is in a more relaxed style. Personally, I find these lack the dynamics I need when I really dig in hard, but then again most people don't play as hard as I do. Regardless, these sound fantastic, provided they suit your style.

I paid $46 bucks for the set. That's a great deal. In the past, I've purchased more than 10 Seymour Duncans, 4 different EMG's, 2 Gibsons, and a dimarzio pickup. These pickups sound just as good as them all if not better, and the build quality on these is noticably the best of them all. I will only buy GFS pickups in the future. People are starving. Don't spend ridiculous amounts of money on other pickups when you can get top quality for a third of the price.

The Output is good for Classic Rock to Hardrock. I used it with my 50W Teisco 2x12" Combo, all Tube, very good Sound, normaly!
With only Volume at half and a Tubescreamer moderate in Gain and Volume this Pickups are very microfonic, unusable in a loud Rockband.
The Tone is incommensurable with pickups from more expensive Manufacturer. For a Beginner the Crunchy PAT and FAT Pat are OK.

I would certainly buy again if lost or stolen. I've been playing off and on for a dozen years and have recently developed an interest in building guitars. I looked at other cheap imports, but GFS has a great rep, so I took the plunge. Glad I did. These pups are a must for anyone on a budget. So far I haven't found anyone else who can match the price/performance GFS has to offer.
