Product: GFS Pickups H17 Classic Fender Style
Price Paid: US $29.95

Features :
Pickup features: Humbucking, passive. This pickup has the Fender Tele split adjustment screw design. Has 4 wires for optional wiring circuits, I haven't done them yet may later.
Impedence or other specs: It metered out to 8.42, a bit hotter than expected.

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Tele, MIM
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Stock single coil
Other pickups on guitar: Replaced bridge pipkup at same time with GFS Hot Lead Alnico Overwound.
Artists using this pickup: Me
You musical style(s): Jozz, vintage rock and country, some originals.
Reason for pickup change: I wanted a warmer sound out of the neck pickup. Seems to be just what I wanted.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Warm but not muddy. Better sustain.
Tone: Good for my style just enough of the original Tele twang when used with bridge pickup for any cowboy or country fan.
Sonic evaluation: I use this guitar for gigs and solo a lot playing complex leads, and Jazzy rhythms. So I wanted something that can do both well. I'm playing through a '75 Twin Reverb or a Roland Spirit depending on the gig, both amps sound good with this pickup. I also use a few pedals, but mostly straight into the amp clean.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I have several styles of playing, finger Jazz to Hard Rock, this pickup will work for this guitar to help me cover more material, but not everything.

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: It's a good replacement pickup and since the body was cut to fit a humbucker at the factory it fit right in, that's a plus, thanks Fender. I would not route out an expensive Tele to put this pickup in, that's why the MIM was a good choice for this mod. I don't see ever changing the pickup again. Since it' has 4 wires I may wire in a cutout switch for single coil operation, but I don't feel I need it for my playing style. Looks kind of custom with the Pearloid pickguard and this pickup installed. Was a good buy.
