Features :
Pickup features: Overwound Single Coil
Impedence or other specs: Didn't check supposed to be 10K.

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass:
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: '96-'97 MIM Tele stock bridge.
Other pickups on guitar: Original MIM neck
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Classic rock/Blues
Reason for pickup change: Lead PUP sounded thin and weak.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Haven't test driven many different Tele PUP's much more output than stock. Really overdrives my Tech 21 TM60. Gives you the Keith Richards tele sound.
Tone: Not as trebly but still has nice highs. Much better bass response. In middle postion with stock neck PUP is very thin and trebly, more so than bridge PUP alone. And of course standard neck PUP is smooth and I like the sound but the Hot TC overpowers it so a new neck PUP is next.
Sonic evaluation: Once again using a '96-'97 stnd. tele. Playing through Tech 21 TM60. This PUP really barks. Nice OD and cleans up well. My stnd. Tele PUP did not sound good at all with OD.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Play classic rock, blues, reggae. Couldn't be happier with the sound except for the weak neck pup.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: This is the sound I wanted out of the bridge so this is a keeper. Seems to be modeled after a Texas Special. Overwound with cloth wrapped 43 gauge wiere. Would definately buy same PUP again. The prices of these PUP's are outstanding but from what I'm reading I would always want to get the hot and overwound PUP's. They are hot but not over the top. Jay at Guitarfetish seems to be a smartass when I E-mail but from what I can see he is busier than hell so I'll overlook it. Besides he's a Yankee from Mass so what do you expect. Peace, Love, Music.
