Output is about the same or maybe slightly hotter than a Gibson 57 Classic , SD 59 , or SD Seth Lover . The tone really surprised me on this pickup . I wanted to have a traditional mini humbucker neck position sound so I thought I would try this pickup , the price is right! This is not that sound , but it this is a really great sounding pup . In the neck position this sounds to me like a SD 59 with extra clarity or even like a SD Seth Lover with some extra treble . It is beefy and bright but it does not sound thin in the mids . it sounds great clean and also with a little distortion .I play all kinds of music except metal . This pickup wouild probably sound awesome in the neck of an archtop guitar .

This is a great sounding pickup , but I installed on a SG that is going to be dedicated as a slide guitar , and I really wanted a traditional mini hum sound in the neck position , so I will probably try the GFS minibird or GFS lil crunchy to see if one of those will give me the traditional tone I am looking for . Honestly I think this pup sounds better than any mini I have ever heard , think SD 59 with extra clarity . Ive been playing for 38 years , and I own a slew of other guitars . I will find a home for this pup , but it is not for this particular project .
