Perceived output level: Bridge pup gives good crunch, neck pup is jazzy and warm
Tone: trebly and stiff on the bridge, neck is warm both are slightly muddy
Sonic evaluation: I bought these to replace the crap single coils that came with a kit strat. Two chrom covered PAFs pre wired to 500K pots with a 3-way switch and a single volume and tone knob. I use it with my Behringer GMX110.
The bridge pickup is nice, gives good crunch on distorted tones, a little trebly for my taste, but that is easy to back off. The neck pickup is very nice. Jazzy and warm and very nice for funk rhythm.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play rock, these are quite suitable for it.

Comments: If my pickups were stolen, it would mean the guitar was too, I guess. I'd probably pony up the dough for the GFS PAFs. The pre-wired PG was really just to get this kit build finished. This is not my main guitar and if it were, I think I'd want a hotter tone on the bridge. The neck pickup works very well for my style. While these aren't the best pickups I've ever played, I'd certainly rate these high for value. For 30 bucks plus shipping, I got a fully wired pickhuard with PAFs. Hard to beat that deal.
