Features
:
Pickup features: Passive single coil.
Impedence or other specs: You bet!!!
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Fender US Strat plus
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: S.D Pearly Gates
Other pickups on guitar: S.D.Antiquity Strat sc mid,Van Zand true Vintage nec sc.
Artists using this pickup: duno
You musical style(s): Rock,Pop some blues
Reason for pickup change: I was'nt that happy with my bridge sound, and I've tried almost
every singel-coil out there,if they sounded good clean they
sounded terible when distorted and when distortion was good
you could guess what the clean sounded like.Well what to do??
That seems to be the nature of the Strat.I started to try out
with humbuckers instead,I've tried Hot ones I've tried vintages
with low output but none of them stayed in for longer than a
week(I guess i'm not big fan of humbuckers)Well I let my S.D Pearly Gates
stay in cause it sounded decent both clean and distorted when splited.
I was'nt complete happy whit this, but i tougth this was as close I could get.
Now I bought a used EPI Sheraton whit a P94 in the nec and just for an
experimental reason I tried it in the bridge pos. of the Strat.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Medium, more like a vintage PAF.
Tone: Balanced, more bass and mids and not that painfully screaming hights but they are definately bright enough.
Sonic evaluation: I play my Strat trough a Tube-king(IBANEZ) into my Laney LC-30
class A tube Amp.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play mostly Rock classics, som Beatles and blues in a Cover band and having a good allround pu in the bridge possision is essential.

:
10
Comments: YIIHAA!!! Serch is over!! At last, this is the one I should have bought
in the first place.I can allmost not belive how good it sounds, this
PU:p cover it all from cristal clean, raw crunch trough the wildest
distortion you can think off.Even the spacing seems to be right.
I would definately buy this one again if something should happen to it.But then I would get the Bridge version.
All you out there with Strat bridge distortion problem,go and get.
NOW THIS IS AN ORDER!!!! ;o)

Features
:
Pickup features: Single coil. Humbucking in middle position on a Les Paul-type toggle
Impedence or other specs:
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Epiphone LP-2
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: I replaced both of the stock Epi humbuckers. Thay appear to be Di Marzio's!?!?
Other pickups on guitar: none
Artists using this pickup: P-90 sound is great for blues and all rock n' roll type of LOUD guitar!!!
You musical style(s): On this guitar, see above...
Reason for pickup change: I love the extra BITE a p-90 gives, as opposed to a humbucker. Kinda like crunch with definition... Full-tilt midrange attitude... loud n' proud.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Very noticable increase of gain as opposed to the stock pickups.
Tone: balanced, loud, midrange...
Sonic evaluation: Driving a crunchy vox/marshall type amp like y Budda, It is dirty, yet defined. Driving a clean amp, like a Fender Princeton, it it sqeaky clean in the middle of the toggle switch, yet drives the amp to natural distortion on full neck or bridge position. The LP-2 guitar by Epiphone is about a 250 dlr. guitar. For like like 150 more, you can seriously upgrade this thing to sound like a million bucks with the p-90 sound. Make sure you get p-94's, though--that way you can just slip these in------no rerouting is necessary with the p-94. Cheers to GIBSON.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good all purpose sound depending on your choice of amp. Excels at overdriven stylings!!!
