Artists using this pickup:

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Like a really hot strat bridge single coil
Tone: trebly but with a lot of bass and mid still
Sonic evaluation: Les Paul - Morley Wah - Big Muff NYC

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good for getting Billy Corgan's Siamese Dream era sound, nails Hendrix's Purple Haze

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: If it broke i'm screwed cos it's second hand, but i'd probably get another or a hot humbucker and coil tap it. Been playing around 2 years, its my only guitar (my jap-o-caster died so i upgraded slightly!) I love the way this cuts through but doesn't sound weak like a strat. I can still get some low end riffage out of my guitar without it sounding twangy. I wanted more punch and clarity, but i dont like strats (too flimsy) so i looked into single coils that were HB size, found this and bought it straight away. This pickup is one of the best i've heard, its really versatile and can go from early zeppelin to jane's addiction and then to some RATM with just a roll of the volume pot.
The only thing i'd change is the look, it's a weird lookin thing! it's got a chrome case, but the top has a black plastic rectnagle on so you get chrome round the edges. why they didnt leave it all chrome or black i dont know, i think this would have looked way better! I am totally satisfied with this pickup, i hvae found the exact tone i want. only gets a nine cos of the weird case but its growing on me!

Features :
Pickup features: Single Coil
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Les Paul
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Semour Duncan
Other pickups on guitar: Gibson 490
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Jazz, Fusion, Rock
Reason for pickup change: Needed more drive and clearer (not cleaner) sound but that sustained and could cut through some recordings I was doing at a local studio.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot
Tone: clear, almost to break kinda a la Brian May
Sonic evaluation: Fender Super Reverb

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Any style. Its suppossed to be a bridge pickup. I placed it in the neck.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: Make sure you have your guitar shielded right. This pickup is super hot but clear not muddy at all. Its does give you the single coil sound but it is not microfonic at all (its potted) and it does hum at all as long your shield your guitar as its supposed to be. Use it in parralell with humbucker and shit does it kick ass..

Comments: One thing which I forgot to mention... if you are putting this into a Strat, you will have to rout out the pickup cavity a little.. the metal things that the height adjustment screws go through are fairly deep, so if you want to try a P90 in your strat's humbucker slot and arent willing to rout out the guitar... I know theres another company that makes humbucker sized P90s, Razor I think?

Features :
Pickup features: single coil, bridge
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Mexican Fender Strat
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Seymour Duncan JB
Other pickups on guitar: Texas Specials
Artists using this pickup: Don't Know
You musical style(s): Blues, Rock, Funk, R&B, Jazz
Reason for pickup change: The Duncan JB just had too much output and bite for my sound, it was good for hard rock and metal but too bright and harsh for blues I found. I wanted to go back to single-coil, looked into P90s that were standard humbucker size and decided to try this.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Quite a bit of output, not sure how it compares to regular P90s but is certainly hotter than a Fender single-coil
Tone: tone is very balanced, no sharp highs or muddiness
Sonic evaluation: In the bridge pickup position of a Strat this pickup basically sounds like the fattest Strat bridge single coil you've ever heard. Lacks the high treble of a Strat single coil but still has a strong single-coil tone. It's output and tone is well balanced with the Texas Specials I have in the mid and neck. It suits the overall tone better than a high-output humbucker does. I generally use it with distortion, I also wired the mid tone control to it to roll of treble. It even sounds good with heavy distortion.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play any style of music with this pickup for which a good bridge position lead tone is required.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: This pickup is great for being a punchy bridge pickup for (mostly) overdriven leads that doesn't sound like a metal shred pickup, and has a single-coil Stratty tone to it.
