Features :
Pickup features: This is a Nickel Plated Humbucker from a 1988 Gibson Les Paul. Unusual as it has a PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD on the back side/bottom/base of the pickup that states the Model Name as listed above.
Impedence or other specs: 8.75 approx.

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Kramer Elliot Easton Pro Special NOS Parts Mongrel
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: None...chosen as the initial install on a Kramer Elliot Easton Pro Special
Other pickups on guitar: Seymour Duncan Dimebucker Signature Model.
Artists using this pickup: Absolutely...no idea.
You musical style(s): Blues, rock, jazz, metal...
Reason for pickup change: No change...chosen as an inital installation on a Custom Project.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Nice thick neck tone...Creamy/Bluesbreaker/Woman tone with some grit thrown in.
Tone: Bassy and Middy but still capable of a bit o sparkle on the top end...CLASSIC SLIGHTLY OVERWOUND PAF.
Sonic evaluation: This is a nice sounding neck pickup. Based upon viewing it...it may have originally been a Bridge P/U, as it has had extra wire soldered on to allow for use in the neck. It is also a 4 Wire Pickup, meaning it can be split...which I have done. Split gives a nice single coil sound somewhat like a Dimarzio SDS1...but w/o the DISTORTION Factor. Has Gain rather than distortion...Full sounds quite a bit like a Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates. Played through a Marshall JMP 50 2x12 Combo, Celestion Greenback Equipped, only use my guitars plugged straight into the High or Low Output or run through a Boss Metal Zone. Very happy w/the range of sounds that this pickup offers.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: EXCELLENT MATCH FOR EVERYTHING I'VE EVER TRIED TO PLAY UPON IT!!!

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: An unusual pickup that delivers all the goods...very happy w/the sound and have no intention of ever getting rid of it. I'd love to find aother, but I don't think it would satisfy me in the bridge position, as I like a Hot/High Output in the bridge...Dimarzio Tone Zone, Duncan JB, Duncan Invader, Duncan Distortion, Dimarzio Super Distortion, Duncan Custom Custom, etc.
An extremely good value...$20.00 for a Vintage and Unusual GIBSON USA Humbucker...how could you not like this???
