Features
:
I have both the neck and bridge model. Neck is about 3.9k, bridge something like 4.3k. Humbucking. I wish it had four leads for split coil wiring. Too bad.
Instrument
:
Using these in an inexpensive Jazzmaster clone in both positions. It came stock with P90s, which I found nasal-sounding.
Sound
:

The bridge pickup is absolutely perfect. Bright and twangy without being shrill. The neck pickup sounds quite dark at certain amp settings. Fairly jazzy sounding, but some bell-like tones can be found if you increase treble and decrease bass.
These aren't quite as bright as single coils, but they're much clearer sounding than humbuckers.
I've got a strangle switch on the guitar which cuts out bass, and makes it sound even more single coil-like.

Overall these are great pickups and they add some classic Gretsch sounds to my solid body Jazzmaster clone.

Humbuckers, mine read around 7 on the output side. I think they might be TV jones but no sticker on the bottom and I haven't measured the pole pieces yet. Nice pickups and very brite
Instrument
:
They went into a Gretsch 5120
both positions,
replacing the set of Gretsch hums that just sound like somebody through a mud pie in front of my speakers. I tried every thing to like them but I just couldn't find a setting that made me happy.
Artist? well lots of people use them. If you don't know about the gretsch filters your in the right place.
reason for change is sound and quality. I just like the look of the filters to.

Output is normally around 4K. mine however read 7K.
use line 6 Gearbox mostly but I have a crate palomino with mullard EL84s and Tungsol 12ax7s. Also use a Fender Princeton 112.
tone is absolutely freaken fabulous. Every note is so clear when chording and overdrive is clean but raunchy at the same time. I didn't like the gretsch buckers because they were muddy and had no treble response. With these babies I have to turn my treble down.
I love the middle position on my guitar now. It has a nice open top end. Then switch to the bridge and dig in. Neck is nice and thick, but alittle big and I need to reposition it. Other than that no unused position

would buy them again and may just do it anyway
been playing about 17 years, I own a Gretsch 5120, and G100, and an 80's Eagle strat, a 70's Kawai EP300, Lab series L2 head, Fender Princeton 112, Crate Palomino v16, Series 10 professional japanese strat, a realistic 15" cab, and some Alnico 12's from the old HIFI stuff ( pure gold in my book)
Love the sound and the quality, Hate that you can't coil tap
satisfied and still looking for something but I'll never stop looking for that sound. Tone junkies know what I mean.

These seem to have an impedance of about 4 to 4.5K, but really I wouldn't take much stock in what they read. Suffice it to say they are a moderately hot Filtertron pickup. They use alnico magnets.
Instrument
:
I have installed a set of these in an Agile Cool Cat Prestige which is pretty much a copy of a Gretsch hollowbody. I also have a bridge Hi Sensitivity Filtertron installed in an Agile Harm 1, a chanbered Rickenbacker style guitar.
Sound
:

On the more solid guitar, the Harm-1, the tone at the bridge is pure greasy rockabilly Gretsch. Played into a clean to mildly overdriven amp, the sound is heaven. Under extremem gain the pickup is a little too bright to get a nice deep crunch. Kind of brash. In the hollow body the clean tone is also fantastic. Lots of depth and character. If you drive the amp a bit you will sound like Brian Setzer, but again not a pickup for heavy metal. But if you plan on playing heavy metal through a jazz box I think you're a bit out there anyway.

I love these pickups and I feel that they best recreate what has been loosely called "that Gretsch Sound" TV Jones also makes a pickup like this called Filtertron Classics. I highly recommend going with either of these pickups and not falling into the trap of buying Filtertrons wound too hot.
