I bought a pair of these humbuckers: Black with golden poles (looks good on my Les Paul-like guitar with all gold hardware). Bridge pickup measures 17.1 K.Ohms and the neck pickup 8.55 K.Ohms. Paid $40.00 for them (plus shipping). Come with springs and screws, no pickup rings. You can split them and they're waxed very well. You can turn the volume, distortion and what ever up, even in the single coil position without any nasty feedback (nice feedback: yes!)

I have a very nice self made Les Paul copy guitar. Set neck, all mahogany neck and body. This guitar had 2 Epiphone pickups that had a nice rock sound, but I couldn't get a decent clean sound. I was looking for something bluesy, nearly Stratocaster like. I wanted a guitar that could do it all: form AC/DC, and Slash, all the way up to Stevy Ray Vaughan. I replaced the pickups with Belcats, split coiled them, but wasn't a 100% satisfied. So, I ended up writing to 4 different sellers in EBay and the only one who was able to give me a decent answer was Wayne from Guitarheads. I asked some more questions about splitting, potting, etc. and Wayne really spend a lot of time answering all my questions and I learned a lot from him! And well, he made me buy these Goldrush Humbuckers..... My guitar still looks like a common Les Paul but I have 2 volume knobs now and I use the other 2 pots for splitting the pickups. (You can look that up in Seymour Duncans Pickup Wiring page).

OK, something about me: I hate cables, I hate artificial sounds, I hate lots of gear. That's why you won't see me carrying around lots of racks and flight cases, and I will never ever buy anything from Line6. I'm more the Alvin Lee kind of guitarist: 1 amp, 1 guitar and a 20 foot cable. I have a Marshall MG series Head, 100 watts, with clean, crunch, overdrive, chorus, delay and reverb inside, and I can turn it all on and of with the standard Marshall Footswitch. I have a Dunlop Crybaby, and that's it. I play old style rock, hardrock, blues, etc. With the Marshall in the crunch position the bridge pickup sounds just like it should: AC/DC like, heavy, hard, but never muddy. Turning the volume down it gets very close to 100% clean. With the distortion on it gets very exiting: good harmonics and loads of sustain. The neck pickup in the higher positions on the higher strings is absolutely gorgeous. And the big surprise: splitting the pickups, the sound really gets a lot cleaner, thinner, very Stratocaster like. I've turned the middle poles of both pickups up a little (like on a Tex Mex) and the sound really gets very very close to Stevie Ray Vaughan. Not a 100%, but close enough (and Stevie didn't use a Marshall) Especially the combination of both pickups together in the split position is very good! Anybody who doesn't know sh..t about guitars just loves it, and the few people who know about guitars can't believe their ears. And me? I'm happy, I have 1 guitar that I love and she does everything I want her to do!

Ok, I have a little shop, buy, sell and repair guitars. I have some cheap **** but I also have some Gibsons, Fenders, Ibanez, etc. I will do anything so this particular guitar doesn't get lost, stolen or whatever, and it's the only guitar I won't sell. If I would loose it my next guitar would have these same pickups again and I will recommend them to anyone who orders a guitar in my shop. I have been playing for 36 years now, and don't do it for a job anymore, but this guitar with these sounds is the best I ever had.
