Features
:
These are handwound vintage type strat single coils from Germany and feature staggered alnico 2 magnets. The blues sets are the overwound versions of the Haeussel strat single coils like in the early ??60s.
Instrument
:
I installed them in a Haar costum strat with alder body/nitro finish and an oiled neck with rio palisander fingerboard. This guitar beats every reissue Fender and the sonic charachteristics and feeling are custom shop class and comes near to good pre-cbs strats.

Here I compare them with Voodoo St-60 bl and Fralin vintage hots, wich I know.
The output level is higher than of the Voodoo St-60 bl I have in my other Haar strat and less than Fralin vintage hots.
They are as clear and transparent as the Fralins, but the attack is much smoother and while the Fralins sound like brandnew single coils the Haeussel have the sound of aged pre-cbs pickups. They sound less hard without any harshness.
Everything is there, quack and twang. They are very very balanced. While the voodoos are more warm and woody soundung, these are chimey, very clear and sweet. They are often compared with Van Zandts, wich I never played.
You can hear them on myspace:

Its the guitar on the right. You cannot hear it on "Lets get startrd", but on the other songs. I played the Haar strat through a Hughes&Kettner Switchblade combo.
You can achieve all great strat tones from Jimi, SRV to John Frusciante from the Chili Peppers. Great!

I only can say that these babies are the best single coils I have ever played. If you need some bright sweet pickups, give them a try. The normal alnico 5 blues set sounds more aggressive than these. They are really top notch!

Perceived output level: These are quite hot with strong magnets. Set your pickups bit more far away from the strings
Tone: Unbelievable balanced, clear, mellow sound with highly defined highs and basses. Precise intonation and good attack supporting dynamical playing, easy and wonderful to control with the volume knob.
Sonic evaluation: Practicing with POD2, Engl Squeeze 30 and Epiphone Glaxie 10. In all cases you get wonderful brown sound. Very good dynamics and attack, precise tone vith great musical touch. I love these pickups!

Comments: I'm thinking about putting Haeussel pickups on all my guitars. Also great humbuckers are available. I tried many different noiseless pickups but single coil is a singlecoil and a very good single coil will always sound better than a humbucker pretending to be a singlecoil.
