Features :
Pickup features: Passive single coil
Impedence or other specs: overwound hot single coil

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Custom built Tele w/ Swamp ash body and one piece maple neck
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Seymour Duncan Quarterpound Telecaster tapped
Other pickups on guitar: Haeussel Humbucker Vin Neck
Artists using this pickup: Don't care
You musical style(s): Country(-Rock), Blues(-Rock), Southern Rock
Reason for pickup change: The Quarterpound was not clear enough, and the tapped coil just sounded ridiculous.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: similar to Quarterpound, hotter than Vintage Tele or even Broadcaster PUs
Tone: hot, very balanced, fat, good for singing leads but still retains some of the Tele tone
Sonic evaluation: Guitar see above. Amps are Fender combos and Marshall tops, all self-modded. Very few effects. This PU sings, roars, screams and yet is very transparent and cuts easily through the mix. It is equally suited for fat rock tones and for thick country tones. Only if you need the real twang sound, then you would be better off with a Broadcaster or Telecaster PU. Haeussel offers them, too. Everybody who hears this guitar is deeply impressed!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This PU is an excellent match for all my styles.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I have been playing for 25+ years now. I would definitely buy it again. It has improved my Tele beyond my expectations. I loved it from the moment I had it in the guitar and plugged it in. I chose this PU because my former experiences with Tele PUs showed that Vintage Tele PUs were too thin for my taste (I had tried SD Broadcaster, Alnico II Pro and Lindy Fralin in other guitars). On the other hand I have used Joe Barden PUs but I found them to be too piercing and shrill. I was looking for a hotter single coil sound that would still sound "Tele" to an extent. The Haeussel Big Mag fits the bill, and the price is right.
