Features :
Pickup features: passive humbucker
Impedence or other specs: 10.12Kohm with a 4.62Kohm coil tap

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez rg170
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Ibanez powersound
Other pickups on guitar: V2-bridge Powersound-middle pickup
Artists using this pickup: Me
You musical style(s): Vai, Satriani, metallica, Pantera, Srv, Clapton, Hendrix.
Reason for pickup change: Daddy wanted a hot-rod pickup. Wanted to keep it stock with upgrade Ibanez pickups, which may I add are made by the Dimarzio corporation.(I asked Rich Lasner-designer and artist relations and marketing at Ibanez himself.)

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Compared to powersounds-a lot more girth, higher volume peak, loads of gain
Tone: Its a generic upgrade with lower priced Dimarzios. I saved more money and gained more tone
Sonic evaluation: I use a cheap Rogue 20-watter and a DoD fx 69 pedal. thats all I really need.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: this is a neck pickup-I'd seriously advise to only play clean channel with this pickup

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I'd originally loved the powersounds but they got a lot of bad reviews so I thought why not invest a little moola into something made by the same company and is made with higher standards. A lot of custom shop Ibanez guitars are starting to call the V1 and V2 pickups a rare find because of the V8 and V7 pickups replacing them.
