Perceived output level: Medium
Tone: Very balanced tone. Total versatility.
Sonic evaluation: This pickup is very versatile and can handle most musical styles. The neck pickup on the SCA220 is split to a single coil and sounds very clean. It has just enough bite for metal and good clarity and smoothness for everything else. I really wish this had a tad bit output though, but it's a very good pickup nonetheless. I believe the the pickup is similar to a Duncan 59 or JB in terms of EQ (boosted trebble and bass).

Comments: Very good stock pickup with much versatility. I replaced the bridge with a Seymour Duncan Distortion, but that doesnt mean that these pickups aren't great. There really isnt an improvement with the pickup change, it just gave it a different more mid boosted sound. My only complaint is that I wish this had just a little bit more output. Other than that, truly great stock pickups.

Sound

Perceived output level: Adequate but not super hot
Tone: Pretty balanced but a little on the bassy side
Sonic evaluation: These are versatile pups. They can take on any style and pass. They cannot do any particular style to perfection but if you want one sound in particular then get some pups for that. If you want a balanced sound that's good for any style then these are great.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play rock and metal mostly with a little blues here n there and these pups are fine.

Comments: I wish they were a little hotter but they'd sacrifice the versatility so just use a different guitar.
