Features :
Pickup features: Single Coil Passive
Impedence or other specs: 6.5k

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: mongrel strat copy
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: cheap ceramic single coils
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup: ?
You musical style(s): blues, 70's rock
Reason for pickup change: old pickups were too weak, microphonic

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: not quite as hot as Texas Specials, much clearer
Tone: very well balanced
Sonic evaluation: sound great through my headphone amp (required when you have young kids) and even better through my old 60 watt half stack, middle pickup IS NOT reverse wound/polarity, no true hum cancelling on these, but you'd never notice. each pickup is factory shielded with copper tape.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: great for blues, rhythm guitar, pretty much everything except the heaviest of metal

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: I'm very happy with these pickups...so far. I'll be putting these aside to be installed into the strat i'm currently building. These were made in U.S.A. and I think Jackson is now making them overseas somewhere so if they're lost or stolen, I guess I'll start looking for something else. Been playing since I was 5 (i'm 28 now) but was unable to play for several years due to a hand injury, used to play left handed, now learning to play right handed.
