Comments: I think that I would always want this pick-up on one of my guitars. It si an absolutely unique, complex and unusual lead tone, not 2 dimensional but with great responsiveness. Of course the guitar (a Totem delta)is excellent. Jason is what we would call a true mentsch (look it up if you don't know). I had always been fascinated bu Ry Cooder's use of steel guitar pickups on electrics and this satisfies that craving. Way beyond a high end p-90.I intend to put a Lollar in the neck when I get the $.

Pickup features: lapsteel pickup
Impedence or other specs: ?????
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Gibson LP Junior Special
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: p-100
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup: Robert Randolph (woo-hoo)
You musical style(s): slide
Reason for pickup change: seeking tone
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: hot
Tone: clear
Sonic evaluation: This is an Oahu lapsteel pickup modified to fit in a p-90 housing. LP junior to cord to Fender Blues Junior amp (or bigger amp / stompbox for gigs): this thing flat kills. It has nuance, authority, funk, bite -- every stinking adjective in the book. Basically it took an OK guitar and turned it into an object of worship. I live to play slide on this rig. Thank you, Jason.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: slide blues & beyond. I have no idea how this thing would hold up to other styles. Hard to play in the missionary position.

Comments: This is IT. I've been playing slide for 30 years on everything from a Roy Smeck to a '66 strat and nothing nowhere ever made my playing sound as good as switching to his pickup.
