Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Rock/Blues
Reason for pickup change: Don't like ceramic magnet pickups. Too harsh and gritty for my tastes.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Full, rich and smooth. OD nicely. Good definition.
Tone: These seem balanced. Bridge position has nice bite, while the neck is warm and bluesy.
Sonic evaluation: The guitar is a brand new lefty Agile 2500 flamed amber top. Amp is a homebrew Bogen PA head converted for guitar use. See the Boggy Intimidator/Boggy IV reviews under "Bogen" here in HC amp reviews. These pickups sound smooth and musical. Big output, but not a high-output pickup. Good for classic rock and blues. Definitly an improvement over the stock ceramic pickups.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I like classic rock and blues. The pickups are perfect for the guitar and the music.

Comments: I'd replace these if lost. Great value! Been playing on and off since 1984. If you're looking for a vintage output AlNiCo humbucker on a budget, you won't be disappointed in these. This model is single conductor with a braided shield. Conductor and shield are good gauge. They definitly aren't "angel hair" wire. Wax potted too.
