Impedence or other specs: Ceramic 13K

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez RG 'Bitsa' & Yamaha MSG deluxe
Position: bridge

Other pickups on guitar: Kent Armstrong 213 PAF (neck) on both & Hot Rails in middle on Ibanez
Artists using this pickup: ?
You musical style(s): Classic Rock, Blues
Reason for pickup change: Stock p/u's were crap!
These were recommended by a luthier that I know well and trust.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Hot, but not too hot
Tone: Good balanced tone, plenty of mid range for solos
Sonic evaluation: Used straight into Trace Elliot Trident or Marshall JCM 900 or through Digitech effects and then into amps set clean.
Excellent pickups! On the Ibanez they handle both clean and distortion sounds well - amazing harmonics! Bit more troublesome on the Yamaha (can be a bit bright) but once you've tweaked the amp, they're great. I think the maple/mahogany construction of the Yamaha is to blame (Les Paul owners take note!)

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Classic Rock (Lizzy, AC/DC, Deep Purple, etc) - a match made in heaven.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I've been playing for over 30 years and own several guitars with Seymour JB, DiMarzio & Gibson pu's. The Kent Armstrong's hold their own with any of them at about half the cost. If you want a great combination on a twin humbucker guitar, use one of these in the bridge and a Kent Armstrong PAF in the neck - power and bite at the bridge and sweet fluidity at the neck - perfect!
I've not tried these in the neck position but the combination above was recommended to me by Kent Armstrong himself (my repairer rang him from his workshop while I was there). I bought the pu's for the Ibanez via the repairer direct from KA and I got the set for the Yamaha from WD's website - great service from both.
