Features :
Pickup features: noiseless strat style single coil
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender 60's custom shop strat
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: Fender Texas Specials
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): blues, country, vintage rock
Reason for pickup change: Texas specials sounded nice clean at lower volumes but sounded a little metallic and harsh at higher levels as well as having a horrible distortion sound

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Is appreciably hotter than texas specials
Tone: Beautiful. Fat, warm tone but still with amazing clarity and transparency. Extremely smooth even response across the strings. It doesn't hurt no matter how loud you play them, in fact it just sounds better and better the louder you play. Completely noise free but doesn't sound at all like any other hum-cancelling single coils I have played. Event the distortion is very nice - still no humbucker but very good. In between positions also sound great with that nice sweet rhythm tone.
Sonic evaluation: This review is based on playing these pickups through a 60's custom shop strat into various amps, namely: old fender vibrolux, crate vintage club 30, fender deluxe reverb

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Suitable for any style for which a great sounding single coil can be used.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Comments: Fantastic pickups - the best strat pickups I have ever played. Would buy again in a heartbeat

Features :
Pickup features: single coil passive
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Yamaha Pacifica
Position: middle
Pickup being replaced: stock Strat clone
Other pickups on guitar: Kinman SCn, Duncan TB1B
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): blues-rock, "classic" rock, light jazz
Reason for pickup change: wanted to reduce noise, yet retain single coil tone

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: very slightly hotter than stock - almost like a Tele on mild steroids
Tone: trebly
Sonic evaluation: Using the Pacifica, through either a Bandmaster or a Pro Jr.; the hype is justified. This pickup is dead quiet - easily as quiet as my Duncan humbucker or the Gibson humbuckers on my ES175, yet it retains the single coil tone. It achieves a perfectly sweeet cluck on it's own and a more pronounced cluck when used in combo with the other pickups. Vintage tone to the core. Interestingly, it is also more versatile than the stock pickup with regards to useful tone variations. The stock pickup would sound too muddy when the tone control was set low and too shrill when the tone control was set too high. The Kinman sounds good regardless of where the tone control is set.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This pickup is perfect for "classic" rock, oldies, rockabilly, etc. I would definitely consider it for neck position as well and it would probably get a real hot twang in the bridge position, for those of you who like that.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: As I said, the hype is justified. I will accept no substitutes.
