Features :
Single coil pickups with switch for regular or overdrive

Instrument :
American series fender strat with delta pickups

Sound : 10
Ok I actually tried them first on a chinese fender strat and that piece of firewood had a really nice growl on just the normal switch and then with the overdrive, that piece of wood bit me in the ass! So I took them out and placed them in my American series strat and this thing just SCREAMED in pain and growled like a big hairy beast! They have a somewhat hollow sound, which I wanted and it's great for blues, rock and heavy metal! Just awesome pickups!

Overall Rating : 10
If they were stolen or damaged I would be freaking out! Those pickups are exactly what I was looking for and although I thought they were alittle pricy, DEFINETELY worth every penny! I would immediately get them replaced!

Features :
Noiseless. High Output. Authentic tone in the neck and middle, humbucker type sound at the bridge. Solved my warbly strat-itis. Chords ring out true and smooth.

Instrument :
I replaced some authentic Fender vintage reissue pickups. They were fantastic sounding with all the alnico tone you could ask for, but they hummed. And they weren't quite balanced from string to string, and of course they pulled on my strings with all those magnets. The Kinmans solved the noise problem, and the balance issues from the old pickups. These pickups are MUCH stronger output than the Fenders. It is actually overdriving my preamp into mild overdrive. I've had to lower them quite a bit in order to get the sound just right.

Sound : 9
Well, I had extremely high hopes for the sound. And I must say they truly sound authentic, but I didn't quite get the punch that was described on the Kinman website. Yes they are truly silent. And they are clear and bell-like, but not any more so than my original Fenders. Having said that, I think it's quite a leap forward to have single coils with no-hum that sound truly authentic. That is, except for the bridge. I got the Woodstock PLUS set, which of course has the HX 85 bridge. I find this to be much more like a humbucker than a P90. However, with a generous amount of gain, the bridge is very useful for solos. It cuts through the mix very well and wont chew your ears up. But it certainly does not sound like vintage Fender. If that's what you want, Kinman has other solutions for you. All in all, very excellent sound. And the string to string balance is ungodly...........he nailed that. Chords ring out like never before, again, the tone is not necessarily the reason, it's the balance and low gauss magnets that make my chords sing now! The pull on the strings from these magnets is minimal and it really solves a lot of tuning problems when playing up the neck. I give it a 9 in sound just because I think there's nothing out there that's perfect, but I think this is as close as it gets.

I would definately buy again, I am spoiled. I tried playing another guitar with regular single coils and was amazed at what I used to put up with!!!! All that noise, string pull, annoying loud G string, ice-picky bridge sound....yuck! I must have Kinmans........
By the way, I bought the pickups only and installed them myself with my own pots and switch (tested to 250-255k). It was very nerve-wracking. Next time I would definately go for the no-solder harness. However, I did manage to get everything working on the first try. But it took me 1.5 hours, which it really shouldn't have...but again, I was nervous about melting something. I advise against it. The value for these pickups is a no brainer, it doesn't break the bank (compared with some other gear) and it's probably the single best upgrade you can get for a strat. Just do it, you'll forget about the cost when you hit those sweet notes for the first time...I know I did!

Features :
single coil pickups with no solder harness

Instrument :
2006 Eric Johnson strat
replacing original fender pickups
wanted noisless for live playing - wanted better quality pickups

Sound : 5
They are overwound "hot" pickups but I did not get the impression that they were more powerful than stock. I am using a Mesa 1x12 lone star with a Mesa 2x12 cab. The good: The noiselss feature is great. They are truly noiseless. The bridge pickup sounds sweet. Not shrill, a useable sound. The ability to blend the neck pickup in with the bridge pickup yields some useable tones - though not ever heard on a strat. The BAD: The neck pickup has NONE of the great qualities us strat players have come to love from that position. I tried adjusting the hight and no matter what I tried it did no good. Position 2 & 4 are not what a strat player has come to expect. These pickups took a STRAT and made it sound like a generic electric guitar. There is none of that unmistakeable strat tone. Bland is the best work I can think of. I e-mailed Kinnman about this and they told me it was the pots ....Well they sold me the pots with the K( harness.

Overall Rating : 7
I am r3placing these with Bareknuckle pickups - I'll put up with the noise of a great sounding single coil. I have been in the same band for 14 yrs and play out at local venues 30 times a year. The presentation of the pickups is great - the no solder harness is well done and everything seems to be of the highest quality. I quess it is true ..to go noisless you lose tone. The original pickups sounded better. The Voodoo pickups in my 62 reissue sound better. I'll give the product a 7 because is reaks of quality but it just made my guitar sound dull and generic. If someone listened to these pickups the couldnt ID the guitar as a strat.
