Features :
I asked Chris for a set of pups to put into my 62 project until I can afford the real deal. I asked for a neck at 5.9K, RW/RP middle at 5.8K and a bridge at 6.2, all degaused by about 15%. Chris got them very close to this. I was so impressed when I recieved the package, the presentation was top notch. They landed within a week of order, and thats to country NSW, AUSTRALIA!

Instrument :
My '62 is too far off tuning yet so I stuck these in another of my projects, essentially a '68 neck on a '57 RI body.

Sound : 9
I A/B'd the bitsa with my 62 RI (my current bench mark) with CS 60's pups straight thru my VC-50 with yellow jackets, and even though the bitsa plays like a mongrel (needs a new nut)the sound is there. The Kleins obviously benifit from being scatter wound, they seem to have more nuance to them, more chirp. The tone is very similar, but that's not where it's at(the CS pups are very good). It's the bell that sets them apart. So for overall tone alone, I've been picking up the bitsa over the '62 RI. Enough said? I intend ordering more Kleins for some of the other strats in my quiver. I'll give them a 10 when they sound like a pre-L black bobbin!

Overall Rating : 10
I will be ordering more. I've been playing for many years. I love the fact that for a very reasonable price I'm getting improved tone over some very lofty reputations. I've got some very tasty pickups sitting in my parts drawer, well they'll be flogged off soon I expect. I am satisfied by the Kleins, but will be chasing some "Black Bobbins" for the 62.

Features :
T2 Single Coil Tele Neck Pick Up. Output about 8.
vintage style. Hand wound, wax potted.

Instrument :
Installed in a recently built (Myself), light ash body telecaster built from parts. Very resonent "airy" sounding guitar with plenty of "spank". I had not yet installed another neck pickup in this guitar. I have used a variety of tele and strat pickups in this position in other tele's and tele style guitars. Even humbucking pickups. Wanted to keep the vintage, chrome covered pickup style
but wanted to be able to "use" the neck pickup without feeling ike I was switching from a hot rod to a wimpy underpowered sound. All this while maintainingg TONE.

Sound : 10
Plenty of output volume, not weak at all like some tradition tele neck pick ups. Fairly quiet for a single coil. Very responsive with plenty of bottom, warm but defined. Used it this weekend and was delighted to be able to go into a swing/jazz mode without switching guitars. Nice without muddy distortion or wolf tones.

What do I really think about my 1st Klein Pickup purchase?
I just ordered a 5/2 bridge pickup for the same guitar!
This pick up manufacturer not only wound and shipped my neck pickup withing 24 hours. He answered all my questions, advised me on several technical items and provided outstanding customer service.

A hand wound vintage style pick up, the way you want it, at these prices? Hard to imagine, but exactly what I received from Klein.

Overall Rating : 10
I have been playing guitar since 1971. I've owned over 40 guitars and I don't know how many pickups. Playing country, (again),
right now. Tend to use Fender Amps for guitar. '53 original Deluxe, 65 Super reverb, 65 Showman and gigging with a Hot Rod Deluxe. Been plaing professionaly for almost 30 years. Rock, Country Swing and Jewish music. Also play Pedal Steel. (Funny my favorite steel is a Kline?).
I imagine that I will have plenty of Klein Pickups in other guitars soon. Very interested in His P-90 style Tele and Strat versions.

Features :
These pickups are a custom wound set, that Chris wound for me after learning about my playing style. As far a specs go they are single coil Strat pickups, vintage gray bottom... 1960's - early 70's... staggered magnet profile... wound to 7.12 neck 7.29 middle 7.48 bridge.

Instrument :
I installed these pickups in a Lone Star Strat. If you don't know the Lone star has 2 single coils and a Humbucker. I changed pickups because I wanted to try something new, and I'm glad I did!

Sound : 10
These pickups have got some ass in them! I play through a Hot Rod Deluxe, which is able to breath a little better with these Klein Pickups. These pickups can do anything I want them to do. If I want to get muddy, I get muddy, if I want to get clean, I get crystal. I play blues, blues rock, and sometimes I play some faster shit.

Overall Rating : 10
I would definetly buy these pickups again! My friend got a set of Tele pickups from Klein, and he loves them too. Other than my Fender guitar and amp, I also own a Gibson 1950's J-45, and a Martin. Which hopefully some day Klein Pickups will come out with an acoustic pickup. I love these pickups because they changed my whole guitar. It sounds totally different and I love it. Its like having a sweet vintage Strat.
