Features :
spot spot wound and wax potted. Hand marked cloth covered

Instrument :
Alder body strat, maple rosewood neck. I had exchanged the big dipper set for these. The big dipper set seemed better geared for a maple neck as the scooped to much of the upper mids and needed a 120 PF cap for the bass roll off.

Sound : 9
The output level is pretty moderate at7.0 to 7.5k, I have seen texas specials at around 9k. I usually take the reading from the output jack of the guitar.

I use an M-13 Line6 FX box, running time based fx through loop.

The S-1 set were spot on they keep their sparkle when back volume down on the guitar even on a highest gain amp (Bogner Ecstasy, Cyclone and a 54 Deluxe wide panel) I didn't even need touse a roll off cap.

For a blue, rock and funk these would would sound great and do the job. These work nice with pedals and with out. The setup I have the pick ups are pretty low, about 1/4 inch away from string. Literally with a set of 12 to 54 strings and tunes half step down it is SRV heaven. I am a big fan of Arc Angels, Doyle Branhall II, Billy Gibbons.

Overall Rating : No Opinion
Would replace in a second.
I have been playing for over 30 years, building and repairing for
20 years. I have had just about every guitar out there and used to work for Tom Anderson Guitar Works a long time ago.

These are in the realm of Lollar, Fralins and Van Zandts, same quality but much, much better price.

i was tempted to get a base plate, but I am really not thinking it would need it unless you have a 1pc maple neck.

Features :
Passive high output single coils for Strat

Instrument :
Rat Rod Strat, basswood body, maple/rosewood neck, vintage trem with cast block with mixed titanium and steel saddles, bone nut, RS, CTS, PIO electronics.

Sound : 10
These are high output pickups and are sensitive to adjustment via pickup height. Very touch sensitive with great clean tone that drives nicely with pick attack. I play blues and classic rock and these sound killer in this guitar. Once I got the guitar dialed in it was off to the races. I usually go for low output single coils, but took a chance on these and am very glad I did.

Overall Rating : 10
I would buy another set in a heartbeat. I own some of Chris' other pickups and all of them deliver the tone.
