This review is of the Klein T-2 neck pickup. It's a single coil, and from Klein's website, "High Output Pickup; Alnico 2 flat pole, scatter wound & wax-potted. The T-2 has a lot of low-end & a bit less attack than the T-1. This provides a more refined Tele sound. RWRP cancels hum in the middle position. Contains vintage cloth lead wires. Nickel-Silver chrome pickup cover." It is wound with extra coils to give it a bit hotter sound. Although I bought the neck and bridge set, I installed a P90 in the bridge for now, thus have not used the bridge T-2.
For the P90 Klein review - see it under that category.
Instrument

The pickups are installed in a Tele-like instrument that I custom built from scratch. It has a mahogany body capped with 1/4" maple, and a mahog neck, rosewood board, and PRS 25" scale. It is thinner than a normal Tele at 1.6". Volume and tone controls are 200k audio pots (yep, 200k, not 250k).

Woof - nice! The output is a bit hotter than normal, and the sound is warm yet definitely Tele-ish. No ice pick ear problems either. Remember that this is a mahogany Tele, so will sound warmer than alder. The chords come through clear and individual notes are distinguishable. Its great for blues and older rock (Zep, Jimi, etc). Amps used were old Gibson Skylark single ended, and a Sundown Artist 36.

Buy 'em! This has got to be one of those un-discovered bargains out there. Yep, I've got Dimarzio, Gibson, Fender, Duncan, GFS, etc.. pickups, and these are as good or better. Chris is responsive, and will make custom pups to your liking. The price is right as well.
