Also known as the "Don Lace Signature" (Chrome covered version). This is a passive humbucking pickup designed for the neck position.
# Resistance: 11.7k
# Peak Frequency: 2650
# Inductance: 4.7 henries
It has enough wires coming out of it which is great if you want to be able to get 4 sounds (humbucking, top "single", bottom "single" and coils out of phase).
I have recently rediscovered this pickup after learning enough to correct some wiring errors made when I had it installed.

I was on the search for a replacement set of pickups for my 93 Paul Reed Smith Maple-top CE-24. Honestly I wanted a good matched set of pickups that had chrome covers but would do better in an environment plagued with florescent lights. After considering all the options I bought this to replace the Vintage Bass pickup.

As you can see from above, the D-100 has a higher output for a neck pup. It is a very quiet pickup too.
My primary rig is a ToneLab SE direct into the power amp section of my Traynor Custom Special 50, but I also use an RP-350 or go direct into the Traynor depending on the gig.
This is a PHAT pickup. It has very deep bass without getting rubbery. The mid sound slightly scooped, and the highs retain a rounded, not sharp, sound. When split, the D-100 has a fantastic strat quality. Using the clean channel of the Traynor direct I get a classic compressed jazz-like tone, which is fantastic. I play primarily on a worship team at this time and am able to use this pickup in any genre (from traditional, to "vineyard", to the new modern worship sound).

For a while it looked like this pickup was out of production, but such is not the case. I am currently considering getting a second set for my project guitar (a now discontinued Spirit Steinberger GM Deluxe).
I have wrote a few reviews for this forum, and have been playing since 1988.
The biggest downside for this pickup is knowing the what and how to wire it properly. As stated before, with so many leads coming out, there are a great number of options.
On the PRS in question I replaced the 5-way rotary with a 3-way toggle and put in a push/pull shaft for my volume pot. When I have time the current tone control will be replaced by a modded TBX tone control.

Comments: I'd re-purchase in a heartbeat. It's very flexible, noiseless, and balanced. After having been a religious Dimarzio user for about 4 years, I think I have a new favorite
