Features :
Pickup features: Singe coil
Impedence or other specs:

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender CIJ Jaguar
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: standard jap pup
Other pickups on guitar: I have gone through three - the standard, a quarter pound for jaguar and a little JB.
Artists using this pickup: Not sure
You musical style(s): Indie / Emo
Reason for pickup change: Looking for better tone. Likedthe stock pickups alright but got this one cheap so I tried it. I like chaning pickups...

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Out put is basically the same as one my American strat. I'd say it's typical of a start single coil.
Tone: The most balanced sound I've ever heard. Perfection
Sonic evaluation: The tone is amazing. The Jag uses 1 meg pots, which may account for this. Higher rated pots (standard strats come with 250) increase the amplitude of a pickups fundamental defining frequency range. This supposedly accentuates the "tone." I have heard people claim that these pickups with 250 pots sound sterile, but I haven't tried this myself so I can't really comment. However, compared to my strat sound - which is standard delta tone american pups, the sensor is amazing. It sounds like a recording of a clasic strat sound - polished, finished and a joy to play. It's almost rediculous but my Jaguar now sounds more like a strat than my strat! I couldn't believe it but it sounds so so so good. The real treat is that in its own mysterious way it is simply a joy to play. My strat sounds basically like this - its in the ballpark, but it has always disapointed me and has rarely really motivated me to play the way the sensor does. For some magical reason the silver sensor is simply a JOY to play. I never even cared for the neck sound of my Jag or strat that much before, but now I love it. I find it has changed my whole approach and opened up a whole new sonic territory. I love it so much that I bought another one to put in the bridge. That one sounds good (though the bridge position on a Jag never sounds great) but the silver seems to me to really be the ultimate (strat) neck pick up. It's simply magic in the neck.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Indie / Emo - this pickup is perfection for anything really. Where ever a strat would do well this would do it better.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I have been playing guitar for- oh about 12 years now. I played for three years in an indie band in boston and have been playing for two years here in portland with my current band. I have a strat, a Jaguar (my main buddy) and a vintage SG (needs repair). I play through a Deluxe memory man, an EQ pedal and a FullTone Full Drive II into my Fender Deville 4X10. Decent set up. The sensor though has finally gven me the refined, detailed and rich tone that I have been seeking for all these years. I have treid lots of pickups in different guitars and never have I found any that I thought were so good that I couldn't find better - until now. Even if I carefully EQed and comressed my strat it wouldn't sound quite this good. These babies are magic - and they're not popular right now so you can get them cheap on Ebay. Snag em up folks. People are basically giving them away. This is probably because the pickups sound "sterile" with lower rated pots. I have heard that the sensors with the new clapton active system and higher rated pots do indeed sound great. I believe it. My guitar doesn't have active electronics, but it does have the higher rated pots, and boy doesn't this pickup shine. For the money (I got one for 45$ and another for 29$ on ebay) these pickups are a steal. You could get a whole set for a strat for under 100$. What a bargain. And not only do they sound good, but they're quiet. Originally that's why I bought my first one - to have a quiet pickup for recording that would match the humbucker (JB junior ) I had in the bridge. The sensor is not as quiet as a humbucker, but a lot more quiet than a regular single coil. I liked the sound so much I chucked my JB junior and bought another silver sensor! Great descision.

Features :
Pickup features: single coil passive
Impedence or other specs: about 8 kOhm

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender stratocaster MIM
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: Texas Special
Other pickups on guitar: First Texas Specials now Fender Lace Gold/Gold/Silver
Artists using this pickup: ME
You musical style(s): Blues and BluesRock
Reason for pickup change: Wanted a usable sound at the bridge without hurting my ears with high freq.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: More than Texas Specials and with much more sustain!
Tone: Not Bassy, not middy, not muddy, not trebly but very balanced
Sonic evaluation: Stratocaster MIM into POD2.3 into PA-amp. with a 6,5"speaker array. With the Texas Specials I never used the bridge element alone because of the earpiercing high freq.! It sounded like nothing, so bad! I missed the sound of a screaming lead bridge element. I tried a Seymor Duncan rails but it didn't sound like a strat at all. With the Lace Silver I have a beautiful full lead sound in clean settings as well as the distorted settings. Singing tone cutting through the mix of the band. Smooth hights that sounds very pleasant. Very good balance between the strings and I can play now above the 14'th fret without the sound is dropping dead! With the Cold at the neck and middle I can have that beautiful "quack" of i.e. Knoppfler/SRV in the pos. 2 and 4. Never expected that I could find a pickup at the bridge with a sound so satisfactory. Very good pickup and very good in combination with the Golds

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Very good match voor Blues and Rock and maybe Punk, not for Nu-Metall

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I don't expect it will be stolen without the guitar, but I'll hunt the m.f. and breake a few legs. I'am playing on the guitar for about eight years, before that I played a few years bassguitar and before that the violin. I had a few amps but sold them. Even my Fender HotRodDeluxe tube amp. I still have my beautiful little Vox pathfinder for bedroom concerts. I don't know if I have THAT tone now for ever. I thought I had it with my Texas Specials till I heard these Lace pickups. Guitar players are strange restless people that allways want to have a better Tone! At this moment I am very pleased with these pickups and for the moment I have THAT tone!. See also my review at the Gold picks.

Features :
Pickup features: Passive Single Coil
Impedence or other specs: 7.2 k

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Fender Stratocaster Maxico (poplar body with maple neck)
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Stock Maxico sets (ceramic)
Other pickups on guitar: Silver (Middle)/ Blue (Bridge)
Artists using this pickup: no idea
You musical style(s): Blues, Country and Rock Jazz
Reason for pickup change: looking for traditional strats single coil Sound with quality

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: slightly more than stock pu's
Tone: not too bassy, sounds like trebly but balanced
Sonic evaluation: I used Peavey Bandit 112 with remote switch to select the clean/distortion, normally I set my gain for distortion mode around 6 or 7. My Neck tone control I used TBX and modified passive Midrange boost/cut for Bridge/Middle, the sound was that I'd looking for!!!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I think, great for blues and rock n' roll but not for metal.

Overall Rating : 8
Comments: silver(N/M) and blue(B) pickups should good combination that will provide traditional strats sound but its depands on pickups height adjustment. I set mine not to close to the string, for those who prefer for more rock 'n roll style music, probably set it closer. I like these sound that you can feel the sustain and good picking attached but one things for these PUs is, hum!! still there but very low especially when playing close to the amps, don't no why!! I compared it to other hum-canceling pickups that I have used before like Fender Vintage Noiseless and Dimarzio HS3, the noise should not there even when playing close to the amps. I have been playing about 10 yrs, overall I'm satisfied with these pickups, so try it!!thanks
