Features :
I had my Fender Strat Deluxe fitted with these Low Impendance pickups with the overdrive.
Unbelievable difference, higher output, better sustain and more sound control at the guitar.

Instrument :
Replaced the 3 original single coil pickups. I had heard about these new pickups and bought a conversion off Trade Me!
My other Strats are now getting dusty!

Sound : 10
I am using a 60watt Marshall TSL602 Tube Triple Lead amp combined with 2 x 12" Marshall Speaker Cabinet. Also using DigiTech GNX4 Recording Sound Mixer.
Twice the normal output level with a brilliant, clear, lively sound.
Into Rock & Blues, Stevie Rae, Santana, George Thoroughgood, Peter Frampton.

Overall Rating : 10
Would definetly replace with same, although have just recently bought an original Swamp Kauri Langcaster Strat.
Been playing most of my life and now at age 50.
Own 3 Fender Strats, 2 Fender Telecasters, 2 Gibson Les Pauls, 1 Langcaster Scorpion, 1 Fender Bass, 1 Rickenbacker Bass, 1 Ovation Ballideer, 1 Gibson Flying V, 1 Gibson SG. so have compared with a good range.
Can't really add anything that I do not like abount these pickups, even the style/ design and finish of the metal seems to be better, not getting tarnished like my Gibson pickups.
The original Gibsons & Fenders without these pickups will now be sold!

Features :
Hi All,NewZealand calling,,,,,,,,,,,you may think that you have a great pick up in your guitar, but here in Little old Newzealand, a guy (Joh langcaster) is making pickups, that you would sell your grandmother for. I call them "Virgin clean & Sexy dirty", they are so absolutly quite it's a wonder burglers are not taking lessons from "Joh" the maker

Instrument :
Tokai Strat pickups to Joh Langcaster pickups,,, I think the guy from "FOCUS", is using the same pickups.
I wanted something with a bit more bite and a cleaner sound

Sound : 10
The output far exceeds my old strat pickups, through a marshal Plus a Roland Cube.
All I can say about the tone is that I have finaly found it.
I play rock, blues and power ballads

Overall Rating : 10
If it was stolen I would have to buy the same again.
I'm 70 now and playing since 15yrs,playing it is just great.
at my age I have a few guitars but this is my fav at the moment.
extremly satisfied

Features :
Pickup features: Single coils for Strat.
Impedence or other specs: Low Impedance, Noiseless, Build in OD

Instrument :
Model of guitar or bass: Strat
Position: all positions
Pickup being replaced: All - Full pick guard assembly
Other pickups on guitar:
Artists using this pickup:
You musical style(s): Worship / Alternative
Reason for pickup change: Already have these pick ups in my Langcaster guitar, now that he has a pre-wired assembly I wanted to upgrade my Strat.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Pick ups are quite hot, not as hot as a Humbucker, but certainly as hot as a P-90. Joh has a certain measure of control as to how hot the pick ups will be as he makes them and sets up the board.
Tone: The tone is very balanced. sometimes you hear some added harmonics from somewhere. Ofcourse you can slant your pick ups to favor either lows or highs
Sonic evaluation: First off major upgrade to the previous pick ups, now this was a pretty cheap strat (Generic made in China clone) with pretty cheap pick ups. Played it into a Holland 100W Brentwood as well a Sommatone Roaring 20s
The pick ups are completely noiseless, dead quiet, it is awesome.
Next they are very clear in tone, if you use the in between positions you can hear some extra harmonics, but else you hardly will find a more clearer tone then these. If you have a very "sterile" amp I think you'll find the sound on these pick ups a bit sterile perhaps, but with a nice tube amp, these pick ups are perfect. It allows the amp to nicely color the sound. With the Holland amp I feel I get the Ultimate Fender tone!
Sound is distinct in all three positions and a healthy mix in the between positions. Nice Glassy sounds, nice Crunch sounds and excellent Twangy sounds in the different positions.
The OD system is also nice, has a gain knob and can give you a nice boost to some great tones for Solos and crunch for Rock/Hard Rock (no metal tones)
Sounds stay very defined and seperated.
I feel his pick ups really prove a point, grab any cheap guitar that stays in tune and that you can play fine, drop his harness in and you sound like a Top Flight / Custom Shop / Boutique guitar. These pick ups can truly make your guitar .. any guitar sound good!

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play Worship/Alternative, I feel this pick up can certainly cover the full range of clean style and medium OD style play. For Nu-Metal I think you'll need humbuckers.

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: Been playing about 11 years, the Langcaster stuff has been some of the best I've come upon. Great tones, nifty extra sustain. There really isn't anything not to love about these pick ups, unless you want way more power or you have a very "sterile" amp.
So far I've used Kinman's, Lollars, Fender Custom Shop, Tex Mex, Seymour Duncan Vintage Hots, SD Virtual Vintage and some others.
A LOT of different pick ups (of course not all in the same guitar)
I'd rate these Langcaster pick ups tops in the Strat category. If you put these in a Tele you get plenty of Tele sound, but I am somewhat partial to Lollars. Also Kinman pick ups are quite excellent for Strat and Tele. (I refer to these so you know what type of sound I like)
These Langcaster pick ups are truly amazing again tops in the Strat Category, stolen .. I'd buy a carton box, a new Langcaster assembly and off we go.
Me and Joh had a "bet" that his pick ups could even make a phone book sound good, and yes they can!
What is so nice, now you can pay much less to get TOP Quality sound. (His Langcaster Strats are $3200 this is a fraction and well nowhere near close in looks, but certainly close in sound! And better sounding then almost any other start style guitar out there!)
