Features :
This is Monte Allums and I'd like to respond to the reviewer "TheGainDeli" above. I remember this buyer. He e-mailed me and said he had a issue with his CE-2 after the mod. I e-mailed him back with a few suggestions. The next thing I know I am the scum of the Earth. First off, the guy should have contacted the "local tech with 28 years experience". After all, he did the mod, not us. And to say that I use "substandard" parts is laughable. "TheGainDeli", I did return your e-mails, twice and that makes you a LIAR! "TheGainDeli", mods parts do not ruin a pedal, they can be installed incorrectly, as was the case with your CE-2. Why buy the mod and pay someone else to mod your pedal when you could have sent the pedal to us and let us do it for you? We guarantee our work. But, if you choose to have someone else do the mod for you, don't blame me when that person installs the mod incorrectly.

This is Monte Allums hi-fi/Speed mod.

Instrument :
This mod was installed in my Boss CE-2 Chorus pedal.

Sound : No Opinion
Sounded good for about 10 minutes, until it failed! This mod "fried" my pedals circuit-board! The mod work was done by a local tech with 28 years experience in custom amplifier design, and construction. The parts that were sent to me were substandard and ended up damaging my CE-2 circuit! DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
This "jerk-off" wouldn't even return my email request for help!

Overall Rating : 1
Since making the mistake of purchasing a Monte Allums mod - I've discovered that there are reputable dealers out there:(Analogman,DIY,Keeley...)
The worst part is that MA wouldn't even try to help me out with this situation... Once this ****** gets your cash - you're on your own!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

Features :
The looks of the Boss CE-2 are unchanged. However as with all the mods of Mr Monte Allums the sound is drastically improved.
This mod comes with a new opamp and several capacitors

Instrument :
I bought a second hand CE-2. Mine is the Japanese type (early 80's), green label.
At first I doubted to do the mod, but I am glad I did it. The CE-2 has really improved.
The problem is that I have to choose now. My Ibanez RC-99 or the Boss CE-2. They both sound good. Maybe I'll use both with my loopmaster.

Sound : 10
The sound of the CE-2 is great. Real high fidelity and much more musical. Also is the speed double the original. Although I don't use the high speed, it sounds allright. A bit lesly like.
I can recommend this

Overall Rating : 10
I almost bought all the mods Monte has. DS-1, SD-1 (808), MT-2, CS-3, BD-2, OD-3. The top of the bill. All mods are worth the money.
Every mod improves the original. Sometimes the sound is drastically changed (808) or the tri-switch options give a lot of sounds.
But the CE-2 mod is certainly one of the best.
