Features :
Passive humbucker. The other review has the specs.

Instrument :
I have two MM1 guitars. One has the "stock" pickups and the other I put a Dimarzio ToneZone in the bridge.

Sound : 10
For some reason my first MM1 guitar sounded thin with the stock pickup but my new MM1 sounds great with the stock pickup. Could be because the bridges are slightly positioned differently. I run through a 5150 III head. The pickup sound rich and full, nice mids and good highs and bottom end. The neck sounds warm, round and full. I don't know how they made these things for so cheap. They sound as good as expensive Duncan/Dimarzio pickups. I like how each note of a chord is very clear.

Overall Rating : 10
Amazing pickups. Too bad OLP doesn't make stuff anymore.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: These are high out put ceramic pu's that are clean toned! they do not have that bone mashing distortion that is ususally found in high output pu's
Tone: Bridge is crisp and clear, great harmonics, and a full non muddy bass, the neck pu is like a single coil on steroids it has NO MUD and has a bell like chime. both pu's are very articulate
Sonic evaluation: I use a 1968 marshall plexi stack that has been modded to get the VH tones, along with a old phase 90 and a mxr flanger and a echoplex

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Does the VH thing with ease! old or newer eddie!

Overall Rating : 10
Comments: I wrote this review because i have personally tried over 30 pu's over the years duncans, dimarzio's,gibsons, etc(i have been playing for 25 years)and this is one of the rare few times a stock guitar that i bought did not need different pu's!
I know these are korean made evh copies, but DAMN they are GREAT! I have seen over at the guitar reviews some said they are not, with my set up they smoke! I have been playing to the first VH album for years now,and the bridge pu gets that tone, you have to have the right amp! you cant expect to sound like VH using a JB and a mesa amp!If you had the chance to play the bridge pickup through a old modded marshall like mine or a peacemaker(which is the same amp stock) you would agree these import EVH pickups get the job done! very well i might add!
