These pickups were installed into my Custom Ormsby Explorer. I have previously had a Seymour Duncan '59 and and Screamin' Demon installed and more recently a Seymour Duncan Jazz and Full Shred installed in this position.
I changed pickups because I had the chance to have pickups designed to sound exactly the way I want. From hearing (and seeing) the staggered pickups Perry Ormsby made for his Multi-Scale Custom guitar I know that I wasn't going to be dissapointed.

I play through a Mesa/Boogie Stiletto Ace head and Marshall 1960A cabinet. I have also had a good play through a Fender Twin a Peavey 5150 and a Ormsby boutique class a amp.
These are medium output humbucker pickups with coil tapping, intended for maximum versatility. These pickups really deliver when playing through very different amps and with different styles of playing.
The bridge pickup wound a little more on one side and a little less on the other which results in superior clarity. In the respect of EQ I would say the bridge pickup is perfectly matched for for the warmer sounding instrument (as designed), the bass can be swayed whichever way you like, it is clear but smooth, the mids are low and generally unobtrusive, the tops are clear and present but never harsh.
The Neck pickup is just amazing. For medium to high gain - single note soloing there is such presence and character that is often covered up by other pickups which can sound sometimes to compressed and lifeless. When using a clean sound you can hear and feel everything. Clean and crisp with all frequencys equally resonating beautifully. In full humbucker mode you can play almost any style with the responsiveness that stops you thinking about what you are doing and just play with feel. In coil-split mode you get a brighter sound and (obviously) lower output which is perfect for heavy strumming.
Unlike almost all humbucker pickups these do not thin out when splitting the coils .

To try and validate my comments and try and reassure you that I am not one of those reviewers that thinks everything is great...
I have owned over 100 guitars, 50 amps, multiple effects unit and played around with pickup combinations, all of varying qualities. I have tried 40 different aftermarket pickups made but Seymour Duncan, PRS, Gibson, EMG, Kinman, DiMarzio, Bill Lawrence etc.
These pickups are of the highest quality. They cost $150 AUD for a humbucker and $75 for a single coil, which is less than most pickups and makes Fender and Gibson Customshops look like extortionists of ignorant brand/label followers.
For further clarification, this is the first review I have ever given a 10 for in all fields.
