Features :
Handwound "Sonic" single coil. Passive.

Instrument :
I installed three of these (reverse-wound middle) in my strat-like semi-hollowbody. I've never used other pickups in the guitar and I don't think I ever will. It was reccomended to me by some friends and I was actually able to play their guitars with great satisfaction before I bought my pickups.

Sound : 10
I would say output might be a little low...but then again I wired the guitar myself so who knows. I play this mostly through a Crate 212 solid state amp. I don't play distorted because the amp sucks. On the clean channel, the guitar puts out very punchy bass notes with great sustain. I use them [in and out of phase] for all types of music, with no complaints.

Overall Rating : 9
I would plan on putting Rocket Pickups in any guitar I have in the future. I've been playing for a few years now...mostly acoustic because I never had an electric but my new guitar with 3 Sonic Singles has most of my attention lately. I am more than satisfied with this pickup, and have played other guitars with Rocket Humbuckers in them and been very impressed as well. Great pickups.

Sound : No Opinion
Perceived output level: Normal output level not hot
Tone: Bassy but still balanced
Sonic evaluation: I use a line 6 and I get lots of fat tone out of the Sonic Single. On the distorted side, it's perfect for a bluesy Jimi Hendrix style of music, and on the clean side, it's fit for any styles you want to have clarity, with a bassy punchy overtone.

For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Perfect for classic rock, blues and can definitely do its job in any other genre

Overall Rating : 9
Comments: The Sonic Single is a well rounded, fat pickup and is perfect for what I use it for. I am completely satisfied with it.
