Features
:
-Passive single-coil "vintage Stratocaster" style
-Plain enamel wire
-Alnico V magnet slugs
-Grey flatwork
Ohms/impedance really means nothing when it comes to a pickup's tone. It's merely a reference; there are too many other variables such as guitar construction, string type and gauge, amp used, etc. So I'm not including it here.
Instrument
:
I installed these in a Strat scratch-build. I ordered these because Rumpelstiltskin had sent me a few of his early pickups as test units (Telecaster pickups too)...and they were stellar. This is the full three-pickup set for the Stratocaster.

This Gypsy set is not a "hot" formula, but they are beefier sounding than the stock pickups in my Fender AS Stratocaster. They are also more responsive and dynamic; picking articulation matters with these. Fingerpick, and the tones are clear and present. Dig in with a pick, and they start to roar nicely. The best tones are achieved this way: I set the guitar's volume on 6, and then set up the amp (Doctor Z Maz 38) to play cleanly, near the edge of breakup. That's it. If I need some dirt or crunch, a little tweak of the guitar's volume control toward 10 will gets me there.

I'm a weekend warrior (with a regular day job) that plays professionally in a band. Been at this for 35 years. I have several pro-quality amps, two Fender CS guitars, a few Gibsons, a Ric, others, and a bunch I've built myself. I play them all--but the guitars I build get the most gig time. I have Lollar and Fralin pickups in some of my guitars, but the only Strat pickups that come close to the tone and responsiveness of the Rumpelstiltskin Gypsys are the pickups in my CS Fender '60 Relic Strat. The Fender pickups sound good--but not as good. And the price is more than reasonable.

Features
:
Standard three single-coil strat pickups with a hot bridge pickup. Modeled after the hendrix "Band of Gypsies era strat sound.
Instrument
:
I used these pickups to replace the vintage noiseless ones in an american deluxe strat I bought in 2001. I NEVER really liked the sound of these, too shrill and no juice to them. They always seemed really sterile and the bridge was super weak. Positions two and four were also super muddy.

The out put on these was perfect. I installed these with repair tech friend then spent a few days adjusting the heights. I play through a fender Hot Rod Deville 410(US made) with some better tubes and speakers>sweetsound ultravibe>analogman/boss SD-1/808 silver> analogman juicer compressor. I play mostly roots stuff, blues, rock, classic country, reggae, classic R&B, funk. The tone of these was AWESOME, and I was especially pleased with positions 2 and 4. 2 being my favorite as of now. I told Aaron what I played and what I wanted and he made some suggestions. He was a great help and right on the money for what I wanted.

If these were stolen I would ABSOLUTELY get them again. I have been playing for 15 years and I have heard alot of strat pups, and these rock.I play ALOT of fingerstyle acousic but could NEVER find that strat tone I was looking for. Stoked I've got it now. Aaron is a great guy and super attentive to someone who wasn't sure what they wanted. This guy REALLY knows his stuff.Great stuff for the dollars.

Features
:
A stratocaster pickup ment to emulate Jimi Hendrix's late '60s white strat pickups. Available with various features and customization. Mine was vintage stagger non beveled and made to balance with a set of "Blackies"
Instrument
:
An older Fender '57 reissue. Replacing a Fender Fat '50 in the neck only. I got Rumple's "Blackie" model for the other positions.
Sound

Pickup sounds great. Has great thumping lows without sacrificing any high end. Blends great with the other "Blackie" pickups though it has a little more output. I find that's actually good in that position to cut through though. It is by no means a high output pickup, just a little more than the other model. Really sounds great, very complex character with excellent bass and a sweet high end snap.

Would buy again in a second. Excellent pickup, only wish it had Grey bottoms but Aaron says those are coming soon. Overall excellently made
