Pickup features: Passive humbucker
Impedence or other specs: Don't know really
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: '93 am. Std. Stratocaster
Position: bridge
Pickup being replaced: APS II Alnico Pro II
Other pickups on guitar: APS II neck and bridge
Artists using this pickup: Don't know
You musical style(s): Electronic rhythm guitar
Reason for pickup change: Needed fatness on bridge position, although the APSII had a great tone.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: It's like 30% hotter than the APS single coils.
Tone: It has midrange and just a little fatness, no more than desired. It bites too, a little less than the single coil but that's its character anyway.
Sonic evaluation: It gives a strat what it lacks, although it's not 'always' usable, sometimes I use it as a single coil ( toggle switch ), but in this mode, the APS single coil rules. One thing for the other. The amp, well it depends, I think it has a good impact through a Class A amp.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I play electronic music, and this pickup gives so much versatility, that it becomes a part of the instrument very quickly. I guess it could also be good for neck position, but of course adding a toggle switch for coil splitting. Well, if you are a fan of that single coil neck sound, buy an APS II. In the bridge, it's a blessing.

Comments: I like its sound, I would buy something like it anyeay, be it a classic humbucker or even a guitar with one incluided. I've been playng for twelve years and don't own that much gear, just a boss pedal case. What I like about this pickup, is that it gives a fat sound, not muddy, but defined. I don't hate anything, it hurts. I chose the lil' 59 and rejected a hotter JB. The JB is not for a Strat lover.
As a final thought, I think tone is in our hands ( and our minds ) not the equipment.

Pickup features: Passive; Single Coil sized Humbucker
Impedence or other specs: www.seymourduncan.com
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Ibanez RG270 (Basswood body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard)
Position: middle
Pickup being replaced: Stock
Other pickups on guitar: Stock
Artists using this pickup: dunno
You musical style(s): Shred, rock, fusion ( i'd wish)
Reason for pickup change: I live in Romania so i asked my dad when he got to london, to get either a Breed or Allan Holdsworth humbucker, or something similar.
Now english people are so smart that they can't tell a humbucker from a single coil, so they delivered my dad(wich has no clue anout guitars) a humbucker, but in single coil size DUH!!!
So i had no option but replacing the middle pickup, since i have humbuckers on the bridge & neck.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: It's in the middle (wich is the weakest position in a guitar) & it's as hot as my stock neck pickup wich is ok & it pisses on my stock bridge pikcup
Tone: Scooped & trebly
Sonic evaluation: Here's what i use: Ibanez RG270, Peavey Envoy 40w combo, Korg Pandora PX2. Now because this pikcup is scooped & trebly it sounds just a bit thin, thin but not weak; but this may allso be because i have it in the middle position, the situation may change if i'd use it in the bridge what is especially designed for ( but i told u earlyer why i can't use it in the bridge)
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This pickup should be usable for any kind of music, from reggae, shred, classical, jazz to power metal,or whatever only that if u want it really bassy u'll have to adjust the amp + effects pretty seriously
Overall Rating
:
8
Comments: If this pikcup were destroyed or stolen i'd try something else, there are way too much products out there to be tryed.
The main up for this on is that it's pretty versatile & clean; the main down for me(i repead it may be because of the position it has on my guitar) it's that is too scooped & trebly, these to accentuate each other, i'd wish it'll be warmer & hotter.

Model of guitar or bass: Kramer 600 Striker
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Standard Kramer Factory Pickup
Other pickups on guitar: Li'l Screamin' Demon, Screamin' Demon
Artists using this pickup: No clue!
You musical style(s): Rock, Hard Rock, and Metal
Reason for pickup change: Needed more boom for my buck!
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Semi-Hot pickup with a great tone!
Tone: Very Middy with great Bass and Treble balance.
Sonic evaluation: Very balanced pickup with a great punch but at the same time a nice clear sound even with my small Ibanez ToneBlaster practice amp. Pro sound without all the effects.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Put this pickup in the NECK position and it performed perfectly. Any position on the guitar is a good place for this guy!

Comments: Wouldn't take for this pickup and would buy it again in a second if it were stolen. Great pickup for anyone except country and classical. A little to muddy for that!

Pickup features: Humbucker in a single coil size
Impedence or other specs:
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Fender american standard Stratocaster
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Standard Fender Issue
Other pickups on guitar: Using the JB Junior from Seymour Duncan on the Bridge, Demarzio mid
Artists using this pickup: Why don't you tell me?
You musical style(s): blues, swing, Gospel, Country, rock-the flock
Reason for pickup change: Wanted more gutsy notes out of the bridge, wanted some of those creamy notes out of the neck with more sustain. also was getting too much noise out of the old single coils
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: The out put is about a third more than before
Tone: Sweet tone! Lots of Mids, didn't lose all the single coil brilliance
Sonic evaluation: using a solid state fender princeton chorus at home and a rivera 55/12 knucklehead tube amp at the church. Have wired the pickups for both series and parallel selection. also have given up one of the "quack" positions in order to play both humbuckers at once. It's well worth checking out. the parallel switching cuts the mids and gives a cleaner sound and it's versatile. Am using push/pull pots to facilitate that.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I'm playing the blueswingcountryrock stuff that is prevalent in our society over the last forty years. We have adapted some of these standard rhythms into Christian music in order to paise the Lord.

Comments: I swapped a flattop + labor for these pickups. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. The '59 is just a sweet deal. It's probably not going to thrill a metalman but it sings just fine for my use. I've been playing since high school and am 40 years here. I don't think I'd bother looking for a better pickup for the neck position.

Perceived output level: Hot enough for Rock N'Roll
Tone: Quite trebly with nice mids
Sonic evaluation: I use a Hughes & Kettner Tubeman preamp through a mos-fet poweramp
into a marshall 1960AX 4:12
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: very suitable for bridge position

Comments: If it were destroyed I would most likely get a little '59 again since it meets my needs nicely. I use the strat mostly for the clean sound, but I need it to be able to deliver an acceptable dist. sound too. And I do not want a big fat humbucker messing up the looks of my strat. It is not as hot as a full sized hum-bucker like "Gibson 490" but it is not that far off. Best of all; you don't have to cut in the body of your beloved strat to install it.

Pickup features: humbucker in single coil size, passive.
Impedence or other specs: maybe like 14k or so.
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: '75 Fender Mustang
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: stock
Other pickups on guitar: Seymour Duncan JB junior (bridge)
Artists using this pickup: no clue, your guess is as good as mine.
You musical style(s): rock, jazz, blues.
Reason for pickup change: Stock pickups had absolutely no output and sounded chessy as hell, I couldn't stand them.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: I'd say that these are about medium output, definitely more that a regular strat pickup. It retains a great clean tone as well as good for some overdrive, not a metal pickup.
Tone: Its pretty balanced overall. It sounds very similar to my JB junior but a little less output, possilby a little bit less bass. Very nice tone, great for vintage clean tones or blues type stuff, not quite an SRV sounding pickup though. It suits my needs pretty well and is a perfect match for the JB junior.
Sonic evaluation: I use a Marshall 6100B head, 2x12 cab, kittyhawk quattro preamp. It sounds really nice in my Mustang, its a huge step foward from those crappy stock pickups. They can't suit most styles of music, nothing too extreme though. Very nice balanced tone. Doesn't distort when played clean either, plus its dead quiet.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: Good for moderate rock, and blues type stuff. Not good for extreme metal or hard rock.

Comments: I think I'd buy one again, i got it for a good price and its a good value. The tone is sweet, nothing is harsh or anything like that. I'm sure there are better things out there, this isn't "that" tone i'm after but still its pretty darn nice. I really like the hum cancelling, its so nice to have quiet pickups! Good for clean tones when mixed with my JB junior in bridge position. Same goes for distorted tones. Its definitely worth checking out.

Pickup features: Humbucker in a single coil-sized pickup
Impedence or other specs: Sorry, don't know
Instrument
:
Model of guitar or bass: Fernandes LE-2
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Stock
Other pickups on guitar: Classic Stack (mid); JBJr (bridge)
Artists using this pickup: Don't know specifically
You musical style(s): Blues, rock, some jazz
Reason for pickup change: I wasn't happy with the tone and I wanted to increase the versatility of my instrument
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: In my opinion, medium to high. Not as high as my JBJr, but it's got real punch.
Tone: Balanced. The pickup tends to be on the bassy side. Adjusting the positioning of the pickup balances out the tone just fine.
Sonic evaluation: Fernandes LE-2 with the above mentioned pickups
(this, Classic Stack at mid, JBJr at bridge) run through
various effects, primarily Danelectro effects (Fab Tone,
Cool Cat and Dan Echo)and a Cry Baby into a Fender 4x10 Hot Rod
Deville.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: I like to play a lot of Blues, various kinds of rock and a little jazz. This pickup suits my tastes. I don't know if I would recommend it for heavy metal. Before I bought my amp, I did play through a solid state amp with heavy gain and distortion just to see how it sounded and it wasn't bad. It may work for metal with other equipment combinations than what I have, but I don't really know.

Comments: I'd buy it again in a heartbeat. People compare this pickup
to a Les Paul sound, and that's kind of the case. I've been playing
for about 6 years, but only about 1 year seriously studying the
instrument. Between all my pickups, I have distinct tones of which I
can mix and match. I turn this pickup on with my Classic Stack pickup
at the same time and I get the clean tone I've been searching for. What I'd like to do
is adjust my pickup switch so I can activate the JBJr and this pickup
at the same time, since I never have my mid and neck pickups on at the
same time. I hope to get kind of a "Tele" effect from it. I hear it's pretty
cool, but I'm no expert at this.
I was recommended these products by the great people at my music store
and I couldn't be any happier.

Model of guitar or bass: 1998 Carvin TL 60
Position: neck
Pickup being replaced: Carvin AP11 single coil
Other pickups on guitar: Carvin Ap11 s/c, Dimarzio Multibucker
Artists using this pickup: ???
You musical style(s): Rick, blues, Christian praise & worship
Reason for pickup change: Stock neck pu had a good s/c type tone, but I wanted a 'PAF'
sort of sound from the neck position.
Sound
:
No Opinion
Perceived output level: Medium hot, slightly less than my Duncan Jazz neck
Tone: Balanced, bassy yet not muddy, with decent harmonics.
Sonic evaluation: I put these in an all alder guitar, so I expected it to still sound a little 'twangy',
regardless of what PU I put in, but these don't... they sound very close to a standard
sized humbucker in tone. Maybe still a touch of the single coil vibe,
but overall I'm very pleased with the tone it provides. Sounds good
in both humbucker and split coils mode, and solo's well when distorted.
I'm using it with some Danelectro and Zoom pedals through a Peavey
Classic 30 amp, and it's really perked up the neck tone of my Tl60.
For which styles and positions is this pickup (un)suitable: This wouldn't be a good match for extreme distortion type music, it's a more classic sourt of tone.
Overall Rating
:
10
Comments: Been playing off and on for almost 20 years, and had a lot of brand
name gear thru that period. This PU recreates the classic humbucker
sound pretty faithfully, and does it without having to rout out your
guitar. I think it does it's job well.
