Features :
*DC resistance- Neck= 7k, Middle= 7k, Bridge= 8k ohm.
Ceramic.
Features adjustable steel poles and dual ceramic magnets. The middle pickup is reverse wound/reverse polarity for hum canceling in positions 2 and 4.
Black cover. Looks great!!
Handcrafted in USA by Stan Hinesley himself... who can match this?

Instrument :
I play the MadDog in middle position on a Mayones Setius GTM (fixed bridge-Mahogany body) S-S-H config
Other pickups are Rogue (bridge) & LaGrange (neck)
I like to play a wide range of tones on my guitar from heavy riffs to chicken picking bluesy-twang leads. It's why I play Stan's pickups. High quality pro custom pickups and noiseless.

Sound : 9
Pretty high outputs and works perfectly in addition of the LaGrange.
Adjustable steel poles help to get the perfect EQ.
It's a pretty neutral pickup which is great and makes playing on position 2 and 4 really cool. Can arrange a wide range of very consitant tones.
I get a very clear and neat tone with some P-90 character. This is a great ceramic, not crystal clear, not cold, just very well balanced with great punch & dynamics. Love to play some jazzy smooth phrasings...
It doesn't add color in your tone in opposition to pickups who already have a really strong tone orientation.
The MadDog will take the most of any amp&guitar with his great outputs.
This pickups does what you tell him to do. Even plugged on a very poor crunchy overdrive, it enhances notes and sustain. I love it for clean blues riffs & solos. It also works very nice with distortion. Yes, you can shred with it. You'll get a neat tone a bit into neo classical.

Overall Rating : 10
Overall Im more than happy. An awesome bluesy-funky pickup. I would not trade it for an EmgSA, a Duckbucker or a Class off 55'...
Many single pickups are good for one style but then become a problem for other. There are many strat pickups who lost their soul if you play
them with lot of distortion. This is not the case with the MadDog.
It can handle anything with the highest quality you can expect.
Virtualy if I had to chose one pickup ever for the rest of my life, it could be this one. Once again, shipped in perfect condition. Enjoy Stan's handcrafted pickups in full set or combos. Dont make the offense to mix them with stock pickups. Dont hesitate to visit my website and myspace.
