Features :
Set of Three single coil Stratocaster pickups.
Resistance: 5.95k neck, 6.1k mid, 6.3k bridge
Alnico III magnets
RWRP for hum-cancelling in notch positions

Instrument :
Installed in a 2007 Fender Classic 50's Stratocaster. Replaced the stock pickups, which were nice, but not exactly what I was looking for. The Classic 50's is sort of a generic 50's style Strat, but really it's based on a '57. I was looking for more of a '54, and so I've been modifying it to '54 specs. The Surfari set is based on the '54 - '55 sound, so it's exactly what I was looking for at a good price.

Sound : 10
The output was slightly greater than the stock pickups. The Alnico III magnets lose a little of the low end spank, but they more than make up for it with the added clarity and sweetness. They definitely nail that '54 Strat sound. The neck sounds really surfy, and can nail Sleepwalk. The mid and in-between positions sound very stratlike. The bridge position is a little shrill (just like on most strats, but by adding the bridge position to the mid tone control, it takes just enough of the edge off to make it perfect. I've been playing it through a Vox Valvetronix AD-30VT, and also through a Line 6 Toneport. Sounds awesome through both.

Overall Rating : 10
If destroyed or stolen, I'd replace immediately. The only thing I think it's missing is a metal plate under the bridge pickup, like Lindy Frailin installs on a lot of his Strat pickups. I can add one for $10 if I feel the need. Not too worried about it right now.
This set is just what I've been looking for with this guitar. it's not the last set of pickups I'll buy, as I have other things I want to do with other guitars, but it IS the last set I'll buy for This guitar, and this one is my main guitar.

Features :
vintage style single coil p.u. around 6k appear to be very well made and fit p.g. perfect

Instrument :
i installed theese in a 1995 foto-flame jap strat, in all 3 spots, they replaced factory p.u.'s. [which were pretty good] i don't know who else uses them, but i installed a set of pure vintage p.u.'s on an am. standard strat and they were very tonefull. the reason i changed p.u.'s is i was tired of originals. the toneriders make this strat as good as any i've ever heard.

Sound : 10
the output is perfect for what i play. the strat go's into a boss b.d. then to a boosta grand then to a 1969 fender super reverb. i currantly play in a working blues band [A1A blues band] and theese p.u.'s are perfect.

Overall Rating : 10
if lost or stolen i would buy a cheap strat and put theese p.u.'s in ASAP, i've been playing for 40+ years and currantly own 4 strats 4 gibsons 2 tele's fender super and twin rev. 80's concert, and vibrolux + peavy and kustom defender [also gig with great amp] i love the tone and hate nothing. this p.u. is the sound i've been hearing in my head.

Features :
single coil set around 6k. look just like vintage fenders

Instrument :
installed in a 1995 jap fotoflame strat,in all positions, am replacing stock pickups, i was suprized that no other artists are using this set. the reason for changing pickups is for better tone.

Sound : 10
output leval is higher than stock, but a little lower than the pure vintage set that i installed in a am. standard strat. irun the signal through a boss BD and boosta grande into a 1969 fender super reverb. the tone is pure strat with beautiful overtones and harmonics. i am mostly a blues and old school rock player, theese pickups perfectly match my style.

Overall Rating : 9
if lost or stolen would get more toneriders, i've been playing 40 years, also own 4 gibson les pauls, 4 fender strats, 2 tele's, fender twin reverb, concert, and vibrolux, + carvin, peavey, and kustom amps. i love the tone just the right blend of beef and chime. the reviews on this site plus the price made me choose tonerider. very satisfied. the best pickups for the $$.

Features :
Passive single coil set. 5.9k (neck) 6.1k (mid) 6.3k (bridge)

Instrument :
Installed on a Frankenstrat with a Warmoth body and a Fender California Strat neck. It replaced a set of Dimarzio Virtual Vintage '54s. The VV's were too sterile and compressed sounding and I was willing to trade a bit of noise for something that sounded like a strat and not a strat emulation

Sound : 10
I am not a big fan of high output pickups on strats and these are perfect. This is great Strat sparkle and clarity, especially on the low-strings -- something I have been chasing for a long time. I would say this very balanced sounding set of pickups. I play a lot of different styles of music and these are a great fit for any music that is a suitable for a strat (rock, country, blues). I have cycled through a lot of pickups and I have finally found something that delivers that iconic Strat sound at about a half to a third of the price that the boutique guys are offering. They say overly glowing reviews might not get published, but I cant complain about anything with these.

Overall Rating : 10
Definitely going to install Toneriders on my other strats. I have been playing for 30 years (Ouch!), mainly teles and strats. My main amp is a '67 Fender Deluxe and I usually play through an Xotic Ac booster (great pedal), a Demeter Compulator, and Fulltone Fulldrive. I have got a pretty nice tone going now.

I am absolutely stunned at what these deliver for the price.
